Ronath Posted May 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2005 Leaving on the Conquest this weekend and recently got MP3 players. Does anyone know if it's safe for an MP3 player to go through the xrays? I seem to remember someone telling me that the xray would erase the music on them.
jimvern1966 Posted May 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2005 I Work At The Airport, They Go Thru All The Time, Keep Them With You In A Carry-on, Not In Checked Bags. They Use A Stronger X-ray Machine On Checked Bags In Most Airports, Same With Film, You Don't Want To Check That Either.
dsclark Posted May 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2005 Xrays won't erase any mp3 or memory. However, strong magnetic fields can. I once accidentaly left my pocket pc in my check in and when I got it, it was totally erased. It must have passed through some intense metal detector.
