Just booked a ladies cruise on the Jewel in February, 2013- Whoopee!! Can someone please tell us which hotel has the best view of the port? Thank you all for yor help!

Probably the Embassy SUites at the Convention Center

We're staying at the Marriott in December before our Jewel cruise (got it free with pillow points:)), which is the only other hotel that's really in view of the port. We'll try to take pix and post after we get off of Jewel.

Tampa Marriott Waterside followed by the Embassy Suites in downtown Tampa, for the best port views. Here is a link to a few other downtown Tampa hotels albeit the above two will give you the best view if your room is facing the port.

There were 5 of us on our gals cruise in January. We actually stayed at the Holiday Inn Express over on the causeway. It worked out really nice because a couple of us drove to Tampa and others flew. We were able to leave our car at the hotel and a hotel shuttle transported to/from the airport and to the port and back to either the airport or hotel. It was a package deal and very reasonable particularly because the rooms were all so huge that all 5 of us stayed in one room.

 

There's also a fun restaurant next door.

Cathy, that's where my dh and I stay when cruising from Tampa. You cannot beat the price of their cruise pkg. I love that it includes round-trip shuttle, after the cruise and a good breakfast buffet that is incld. The return shuttle alone a $25 savings. Also, like that the hotel has a view of the Bay. It makes for a nice start to the cruise.
