Getting jobs-Canceling cruise

Not enough information provided. Go to your cruiseline's webpage and look up their cancellation policy. It depends how close you are to your sailing, how much money you will get back.

Since most of your posts are about RCI, here's their policy:

For a cruise 6 nights or longer, if you cancel 75+ days from your cruise you receive all your money back. 74-57 days out, you lose your deposit. 56-29 days out, you lose 50% of the total price (taxes and fees excluded). 28-15 days out, you lose 75% of the total (again, taxes and fees excluded). 14 days or less, you lose everything but taxes and fees.

Can you get any kind of refund if you and your spouse get a job and then then have to canel the cruise?.

TA told us we might get able to get 75% back if we cancel before final payment

I was in the same situation and got cancel for any reason coverage. That was the only thing that seemed to cover this. If your wife gets laid of than this is different, I saw some insurance will cover it. Luckily for me my new employer was ok with me taking a week of almost right away, I have negotiated that when I was signing the contract :).
