Not talking about Disney...I am talking about the 2 toilets in the Deluxe Ocean View on Carnival.

We have one booked for next month...

My point is 2 bathrooms don't mean two toilets. And it seems that's true based of two subsequent posts.

OP sorry you had to go through that!!

The oceanview deluxe rooms have only one toilet however that is not the point...1 toilet or 6 this issue should have been resolved pronto not 5 hours!!!

We were on a brand new Celebrity ship 2nd sailing the toilet broke called maintenance they were in the cabin within 10 minutes problem solved within 30 minutes. Under 30 minutes with a toilet that is not working is a "glitch" and "going with the flow" NOT 5 hours!

OP stated there is alot more to tell so it sounds like it was the cruise from hell. :(

Linda, the one that I got to see on that ship (didn't take pictures since I was a guest in their occupied cabin) only had one toilet.

Yup. That's what is considered a split bath on Disney. We loved it. They are in all the cabins*

*I think

My folks did too..dad loved it with 1 granddaughter and dear mom in Alaska, perfect for 3..and the 2 princesses had their own areas when curtains were drawn so glad they made the trip this summer...Sarah

I'm not a complainer but this ship has alot of issues. Found out it had just been in dry dock for 2 weeks. Alot of people had problems. One couple at guest services had Bed Bugs and wanted a different room. Alot of rooms TV didnt work. Ice machines broke were using coolers. There is alot more I will post about later. Just so glad to be off that ship!

We were on the Dream at the end of August and I will say that we had alot of issues similar to what the OP describes. Our TV, and fridge didn't work upon boarding. Our cabin stewart kept telling us that they were having issues with their ice machine so we rarely had ice in our room all week. And, our neighbour also had an issue with their room safe and fridge.

There were coolers filled with ice stationed at most ice machines as it seemed the machines just couldn't keep up to the demand. We were fine with using the coolers until we watched a teenager stick in hand in and grab an handful of ice. Eeeeewwwww!!

The difference in our cruise to the OP's seems to be that our crew seemed to go above and beyond to fix our concerns. The 'TV" repairman spent at least 2 hours trying to figure out our TV and stayed well past his on duty hours. Our fridge was replaced within hours of staff determining that it was not functioning as it should. Our neighbours safe and fridge were also repaired/replaced within a few hours. And our Room Stewart was constantly apologizing for the lack of ice.

I'm not sure how happy I would have been if my toilet wasn't operating as it should.....so I can appreciate the OP's frustration.

Me too..having had the malfunction 3 times traveling, and none thank God on a ship..it is awful and 5 hrs, not ok..and not enough folks to fix when they finally make it..ouch..one does anything they can to stop things and fix themselves too when the worst happens and it is up there in embarrassing, uncomfortable to very bad..and unsanitary and awful...sarah

I take it you haven't tried NCL?:p

Actually I just got off the NCL Star in the beginning of August and booked another NCL cruise for April.

I was like you in the fact that I cruised with them in 93' and was pretty bad.

We did not book another on NCL for 19 years.

It was a lot better than the current Carnival product.

It appears this is going to turn into another ugly thread like the one after the OP posted with the first complaint. I really hate to see that. Not only does it appear the cruise had issues, but now the poster will either be put through additional abuse by others, or they will not be back for fear of such abuse. Good going folks.

I personally wouldn't want to take the abuse so, if it were me, any information that could be gained by me responding to questions about "the rest of the cruise" would be totaly lost.

I don't know how some can not understand that no matter how many times you have cruised, with ANY paticular cruiseline, how well you adjust and "go with the flow", or how much you believe a cruise is what you make it, things can and do go wrong and sometimes in a manner of succesion regardless of what you try to do to blow it off. It appears the issue started with the toilet, and somehow, someone just kept flashing the damn thing wether it be further issues on the ship or the hateful things said on this and other boards. This happened once to me.

Cruise #19 on same cruiseline. Cruise was a three day sister cruise in July. Issues with booking, upgrade, Cruiseline transport at the airport before we ever arrived to the ship. Housekeeping issues when we arrived to the room. Ignored by waiter in the dining room and left after an hour to eat on the Lido deck. Dirty tables for hours on Lido deck. Dirty public restrooms throughout the ship. Unhappy crew. Insulted by dealer in the casino. Scheduled a galley tour and no one came to meet us at assigned meeting area. Called and was taken on tour that was interuppted by tour guide taking phone calls on cell phone throughout the tour. I could go on.

So the naysayers will say. "That's what you get for taking a cheap three day cruise in prime season." To begin with, it wasn't cheap. It was an older ship and to get a balcony had to purchase a suite. Also, if you compare the price per day for shorter cruise, most often you are paying at least 2/3 more per day. My very 1st cruise was a 3 day and that is what got me hooked on cruising. Do you think I would have ever been back had this been my first experience?

I don't care if it's a 3 day cruise, a prime time cruise, or a spring break cruise. The only difference I should be able to see are are clientele on the ship during those times. I should not see a change in company standards especially regarding cleanliness and service.

Did I go back and cruise again. Yes, many times. I knew this was not the standard as I had already cruised 18 times previously. I did let the cruisline know of my experience in detail as I knew that they would want to be informed. (And no, I did not ask for nor recieve any compensation for sharing my experience with them.) I haven't braved going on the same ship again since then but I have followed it's reviews and it seems that most are very positive these days. I hope sharing my experience had something to do with that.

Bottom line is I am not one to go looking for issues. I do go with the flow. The last thing I would want to do is let a couple of minor inconvieniences ruin my vacation.

I don't hold any ill will for that bad cruise at this point because recent ones have restored my faith. I might even try a 3 day again sometime in the future during prime season because as it stands, I fully believe that the standards shouldn't change regardless.

Bad cruises can happen to the most faithful cruiser. That doesn't make them a bad person for being upset about it. Everyone just needs to put on the brakes and quit trying to cruify everyone that makes a comment that does not fit into your ideal of what the cruisline represents. I know what it represents. It just doesn't always happen.

If it were a more common occurence the cruisline would go bankrupt in a hurry. I am thankful that it doesn't, and that I had cruised enough to know that wasn't the norm.

I seriously doubt that any avid cruiser would want to give up their favorite pastime due to one bad experience while on a ship. I would venture to guess though that an avid cruiser would give up that pastime if they started thinking about the way they are treated on a cruise board. These are the people they will be sailing with for crying out loud. Would most of you want to cruise with some the spitful, hateful, or critical people you see on this board?

I am not saying you can't rant from from time to time. I've done it. But do we really need to attack people to this degree? Is that at all productive?

Sometimes I think the death of soap operas has sent everyone to the CC boards. So much drama these days!

LOL. I may have to break down once the Breakaway comes to town. But I may first have to plead with the mods to remove all traces of my NEVER AGAIN posts.

Seems I'll take anything to get to Bermuda, while it's been 10 years since Carnival has been there during prime season.
