Miami Hotel with cruise and park

I have always sailed out of Port Canaveral and we drive down from SC and leave our car at Country Inn and Suites right across from port. Booking the Glory from Miami in March but need a clean hotel with safe parking for our car while we are cruising. Will need round trip shuttle also. Any suggestions? Thanks.

PC is very a very small town compared to Miami. As downtown and Miami Beach hotels charge their guests $25-30+/day for parking :eek: just about all of the hotels offering these deals will be out near the MIA airport. If a shuttle is not offered both ways (to POM, sometimes; from POM back to the hotel, almost never) plan on paying just under $30 (including tip) for a cab to POM and/or back to your car.

 

Check www.parksleepfly.com or https://secure.stay123.com for hotels offering cruise parking deals. A budget hotel often suggested on these boards with cruise parking and free shuttle to POM (but not back to your car) is the La Quinta East -- the place gets mixed reviews but seems to be good enough for lots of cruisers.

Better, but pricer options include the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon and the Embassy Sutes MIA airport.

Security of your car is an issue in many parts of Miami :eek: - parking at POM costs $20/day but is convenient, covered and secure. You might be better off getting a $50 hotel a couple of hours north of Miami off of I-95 (Orlando is only a 3.5 hour drive away!) and then driving to POM the day of your cruise and parking there. ;)

We booked Hyatt Place ( Doral) for $119.00=$134.00 with tax for end of October. Transportation to the Port, but not back to pick-up your car.

We booked La Quinta Miami Airport East through Last Minute Travel for our December cruise (I'll post back here with a review post cruise). They have free parking as well as a free shuttle to the port. Seems to be just fine for a night before cruise - nothing fancy, but safe and reasonably priced. Search these threads for the info about deciphering the LMT codes to know which hotel is which - you can get some good deals without the mystery of PL (important for us on this trip since we needed a room for 4, which PL can't guarantee). Also important if you need to have parking/shuttle!
