bsharynu Posted October 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2012 I would like to do some excursions with my 3 and 5 year old. The ones through Carnival are so so expensive. Any reputable companies to go through that are not through Carnival and suitable for a 3 and 5 year old?
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2012 Are you sure you really want to do formal excursions. On your other posts you didn't mention the ports and think it would be helpful. Also if you want recommendations I would be posting this on the ports of call board. bsharynu Posted October 12, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted October 12, 2012 I would probably want to do a shorter excursion and not a 7 hour one since we are with the kids. There is a pirate's cruise through Carnival when we are in Grand Cayman and I know my son would love that.
askimdog Posted October 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2012 We did the same ports this past Janaury with 2 grils each 7 years old. We made up fun fact sheets with "match the words", spelling etc. for each port. Grand Cayman: we spent hours studying turtles at the turtle farm, picking up turtles, swimming with turtles, eating turtle :) Then we hiked the nature trail and toured the aviary there. Online with transportation we paid 35 per adult and 18 for the girls with a coupon we had. Cozumel: I had a shell guide and beach combing guide for Mexico, we picked up a lunch and we walked the wild side of the island for hours, we saw all afternoon 3 other folks on the beach. Belize: wandered town, the girls played with some locals, we visited a museum, and old church and sat in a school for a bit with other kids. Then dined at a local restaurant besides street food. Roatan: hired a driver for the day at 20 pp. Hiked at overlooks, visited a school and an orphanage where the girls played on the playground with the kids for a long time, where we also dropped off school supplies. Grabbed balleadas and had a picnic by the water wit no other tourists visable. All this was very cheap and pretty educational, I think Grand Cayman cost a bit more than $100.00 for all us to play that day, but GC is expensive. Roatan cost a bit more too, but ya need a ride out of Mo-Bay to really see Roatan.
