you can wait until the next day after you board to buy it so its a full day if you want to pay for one less day.

You will also save on sales tax by waiting.

I carry on enough to get me through

sail away day and then buy the package

day 2.

How old is the child?

Unless they want to get two sodas at the same

time, only Mom will need to get the package -

it's not like he will be going to the bar by himself. :)

I know a lot of parents who buy it for their kids and the kids do go and get it by themselves.. and spend time in camp carnival and eat with the other kids.

I think that everyone in the cabin has to buy it. You won't be able to your wife's or daughter's card .

You're thinking of the Awesome Bar Program where every

adult in the cabin needs to purchase.

Technically a parent and child are not supposed to

"share" a card, but a nine year old should not be going

to the bar without Mom.

So you condone cheating and sharing a card but say thats to protect the 9 year old who should not be allowed to get his own soda. Its not like he is going to see anything.. I think it depends on the 9 year old. My parents would have trusted me to be alone and not get into trouble.

My parents though would have set a good example for me and not condoning stealing, so they would have gotten me my own card. I guess you think a bad example is ok, but not trusting your kids to be adult. Each to his own.. some kids are very responsible at that age. I dont think its up to you to set rules for the OP.

Not to be a naysayer here, but where else can they go to get a coke? My daughter gets her sticker on every cruise, and she HAS to go to the bar because that's the only place to get drinks on a cruise!!!

I think it'd be different if they offered cokes somewhere else, but on a cruise that's your only available option. You can't even get them through room service!

It's not uncommon to see a bunch of kids approaching the bar.... it's their only choice. It kind of sounds like you're trying to offer parenting advice without knowing all the facts.

Thank you for the sermon.

You posted not once .. but twice that you dont believe a 9 year old should be allowed to go get his own soda.

.. and Im the one preaching?

One post about this.. ok.. you are stuck on it.. but after the 2nd.. sure I responded when someone wants to dictate to others how to do things... everyone is different. some kids mature faster than others.

Wow! Why the personal attacks? Going to the bar for a soda on a cruise ships is far different than going into a regular bar on land. There's no problem with a kid walking up to a bar on a cruise ship and getting a soda. Many of the bars are out in the open & part of the public areas that are shared by everyone.

It would be against the rules to use someone else's soda card, or to drink the soda they got. Not judging, nor saying that I've followed every rule in my entire life. I'm just stating what the rule is.

I have personally seen language and

behavior no kid should exposed to by the

"gentleman" camped out at the bar:

There were two young girls, probably 10 or 11,

getting sodas when one guy was describing, quite loudly,

his previous nights "activities" with his wife

or gf to his buddy.

When I asked him to keep it down, they're

are kids here he told me to F- off and then

looked the girls up and down and said

"They look old enough to hear this" and

had a good laugh.

Carnival really needs a kids-only soda

fountain.

People like that don't care where they are or who is around.

Plenty of kids go to bars all over the ship to get their sodas.

Very common
