Mollycat Posted October 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2012 Hi there! My husband and I are thinking of booking the Tabyana Beach and Gumbalimba Park excursion through NCL. It is 6 hours in total - but wondering if anyone knows how long you actually get at the beach? We are hoping to do some snorkeling....so wondering if we should just skip the Gumbalimba Park and have extra time for snorkeling. Thanks.
TX2000 Posted October 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2012 I am interested in teh answer for this, too. We booked this excursion today, and I'd like to know how much time is allotted for each activity. Anyone done this one??
monicamn Posted October 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2012 I am wondering the same, too. It is getting close to our cruise and I need to start booking excursions. Our last cruise we did a lot of independent excursions. Looking forward to hearing input on this question.
tfero1 Posted November 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2012 We did this a couple years ago and the gumbalimba park part is actually only an hour or so long so you should have plenty of time to snorkle!:D
CAcruizn Posted November 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2012 I was there a few years ago and I remember it was one of the best beach snorkling sites I can remember. The reef is very close to shore and there are lots of different fish.
BabsterA Posted November 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2012 NCL offers two excursions - one for the cave/park and the other for Tabyana Beach and the park. We did one of the excursions several years ago and got to hang out at the fresh water pool/beach for a while so I THINK it was the one without the beach break included. Does anyone know the difference between the two NCL excursions? We'd enjoy some beach time but it's not essential.
svmodi Posted November 8, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Does anyone know if you can visit Gumbalimba Park/Monkey Trail Park on your own without doing a criuse ship's excursion. There are certain private tour companies that say that can take you but then others say that the park will not take walk-in business when cruise ships are in port. I was wondering if anyone has/was able to do visit this park on their own?

I was wondering if anyone has/was able to do visit this park on their own? We booked this through Rony's tours and I asked him that exact question. He said they allow him to bring cruise passengers in or he wouldn't offer it on his website.
cpayne Posted November 18, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2012 Do you have to book through a tour operator OR can you just grab a taxi at the pier and head to the park? Thanks.
