FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Half Moon Cay - This place was as wonderful as everyone says! Beautiful beach and water - so nice to just relax and not have anywhere to be for the day. If I had booked before a month prior, I would have tried to reserve a cabana, but they were sold out by the time we booked. A nice lady from our roll call invited us to stop by her Cabana #8 and so we did. She was generous enough to let me use a float (I was going to rent one for $15) and that was all I needed. She ended up leaving early to go back to the ship and let us hang out there. I was so grateful for that because it was nice to not have to be confined to a beach chair for the day. Thanks Chris!:) There was a BBQ luch set up with hotdogs, hamburgers, jerk chicken, salads, lemonade, iced tea and water. You could use your S&S card in the bars and few shops that were there. FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #28 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Thanks for the review so far! I'm on the Miracle in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait! Did you book a balcony guarantee? If so any idea when it was assigned? I'm becoming impatient, I want to know were my cabin will be! haha We did not - we booked the cabin # at time of booking. Good luck!!! thunter1224 Posted October 18, 2012 #31 Share Posted October 18, 2012 I am going on the Miracle next month but adifferent itinerary. Do you think you could scan the daily papers in and post so I can get an idea if activities? I would like to see them also.. but since I am on the same as you. Port Cav. , nassau, freeport ...right? Won't that change the activites? well maybe sea days would be the same !!
FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #32 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Nassau - We went to Breezes for the day ($65 all inclusive) with 10 friends from our roll call. We took the jitney to the resort for $1.25 per person. They have a few pools, swim up bar, beach access, water sports, activities, trapeze, rock climbing wall, pool and beach volleyball and all you can eat and drink. We had a blast!!! Just wish we were in port longer! I don't have many pictures of the resort. I borrowed these from my friend - thanks Juli!!

FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #41 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Sorry I am sporadic about this review - I'm on my phone now with no access to.my pictures so I figured this would be a good time to talk about the food. MDR - we switched to YTD on the 2nd afternoon so we could sit with our new friends. The hostess said she would ask the Maitre De and we would get a note in our mailbox with his decision. He said yes lol so we proceeded to dinner on the 2nd night. The waitstaff was awful! We had a table for 8 & 1 butter dish and when someone asked for more, she said "you already have one"!! Really?? She was annoyed if we asked her anything - she definitely did not like her job! The next night we tried again and got the best waiter, Dennis and his assistant, Manuel. He was funny, personable, and knew all of our names the first night he served us. We went around 7:30pm most nights and from that night on we requested Dennis & usually had to wait but it was worth it. The food was good and we ate plenty of it. Most nights we ordered multiples & there was no issue - we even had 3-4 butter dishes LOL Nick & Nora's Steakhouse - we reserved this prior to sailing for the 2 of us and then we ended up inviting 2 ladies from the roll call. I went to the steakhouse to change the reservation and after a little hemming & hawing, she changed it for us. We enjoyed our meal and the company. I don't think I would spend the money again - it's nice to eat lobster a few nights during the week but I'd rather we spent the $70 somewhere else on the ship. Horatio's - I did not like the set up of this and I didn't like how the themes changed every day. I have never frequented the buffets on my cruises until this one (too many sea days, too much time to eat :) ) it is spread out and by the time you're done getting what you want, your food is cold. The sushi is here on the dinner buffet. :) Taste Bar - I tried this every night they had it available. Great little bites! It happened to be near the casino & I spent quite a bit of time there. If you want the $5 drink, you will have to ask about it. I never saw anything advertising it and I only knew about it because I read about it on here. The Deli - we ate here a lot. My BF tried pastrami for the 1st time and was obsessed! ! I loved the vegetarian arugula, mozzarella, & tomato sandwich!! The Grill - the chicken tenders with honey mustard were awesome! I also had the nacho chips - very good. My BF tried the hamburger & said he didn't care for it. Room service - we only ordered a few times, usually took 45 minutes. Vegetarian sandwich on this menu is great also. Punchliner Brunch - ok, so this is such an awkward set up - at the top of the hour, lights start flashing & George Lopez comes over the speakers and if you happen to be in the middle of trying to order, it is very distracting! ! The comedian speaks for a few minutes, usually picking on a diner. It is very odd - I would have preferred regular breakfast & lunch. The food was pretty good and there was a nice selection. My BF loved the steak and eggs & I tried something different every time we went. The plus side to this brunch is if you are in the mood for breakfast food at noon, you can have it! :) We ate a ton, loved the fact that we didn't have to shop for it or cook it so we were happy!!! :D Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #42 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Entertainment - I don't usually go to many shows but we did make it to a few! Ticket to Ride - if you're going to go to only 1 show, make it to this one. The band played Beatles music while the dancers & singers did their thing. It is nicely done & a few surprise special effects. Carnival Quest Game - adult only, very fun and not for anyone prudish! Lots of laughs and we came in 3rd place thanks to a special couple for taking one for the team!! Hahaha! Carnival Legends Show - I love going to this, I think it's great that fellow passengers have the guts to do this. Some on this sailing had amazing voices! There is a band playing in Frankie & Johnny's called Music Unlimited - they sing everything from 50's to current. They are great!! The Punchliner Comedy - we only went once for an adult only show featuring Smiley Joe Wiley. He was hilarious! Definite must see if he's on your sailing! Casino - I spent a lot of time here, I played in the slot tournaments & played Let It Ride most of the time. Casino staff was great and I enjoyed earning my free drinks! ;) Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk

scooby girl Posted October 18, 2012 #44 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Hello. Thanks so much for the review. I have a few questions. I will be on the miracle on Nov 6th. Were the pools enclosed at all during your trip? How was the weather? Did you go to the comedy club at all? Were there chairs available on serenity deck? Thanks so much for any information that you have. Did you go to the sports bar at all? My first time sailing on carnival. CANT WAIT!!

FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #46 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Hello. CANT WAIT!! The pools were never enclosed on this trip but that's probably because the weather was fantastic. It rained once for a few minutes and that was it. I went to the comedy club once ans ot was great - Smiley Joe Wiley - we didn't see anyone else due to negative reviews from friends. If you want a nice moon lounger on Serenity, get there early. I usually saw chairs available in the shade but that's it. I walked through the sports bar a few times - only saw a few people in there. You will enjoy your cruise! Wish I was going again! Thanks so much for any information that you have. Did you go to the sports bar at all? My first time sailing on carnival. CANT WAIT!! We had BEAUTIFUL weather. The roof wasn't closed for our trip. The roof only closes over the middle pool. We watched two NFL games in the sports bar that week. Awesome time in there. We were surrounded by other teams' fans too. I can't answer the other questions for you. The Miracle is my favorite Carnival ship. I am going to miss her. :(

FrogFritter Posted October 18, 2012 Author #49 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Hi, can you explain this? $5 drinks??:) We have not been on Miracle since her dry dock and the Taste Bar is new (sushi used to be there) so don't know what this is all about. TIA. ;) The Taste Bar is where they serve you 1 bite (sea days only) that is themed from restaurants they have on other ships. Each time they have a drink that goes with it for $5 - it is a bargain but you need to into the bar next to where the Taste Bar is set up to find out what it is & order one. daniella1279 Posted October 18, 2012 #50 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Yay! Smiley joe Wiley I hope he is on the ship when we sail!! When we went on the pride in 2011 he was on and my son loved him.
