Family Lady Posted May 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Can anyone tell me where the anchors and loud areas are in relation to the cabins on the Carnival Funships, specifically the Paradise and the Triumph? Thank you!
wwinfl91 Posted May 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I can't help you with exact locations on those ships but I can guarantee you won't miss any early shore excursions if your room is directly about where the anchors are or where the side thrusters are. We have had cabins on different ships at different times over both and it made for an early morning many times. Have a great next cruise. tomc Posted May 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Ha! I was under an anchor on a HAL ship and did not --repeat not-- need an alarm clock. I did need to be pried from the ceiling the first time it happened. After that, I was ok with it. * * * Put "Cruise Critic" in e-mail subject line: tomcarten@hotmail.com
JanetMarie Posted May 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2004 But think about it! The only time you will hear the anchor is when the ship is docking. I mean, it's not like it's a continual noise! OUR NEXT ONWARD JOURNEY!
tomc Posted May 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Actually, it's not that common. You only hear it when the ship is anchoring offshore and you will be tendering in. Depending on your itinerary, that might be often or not. On the NE/C run, I think it's only three mornings out of ten or twelve days -- again, depending on the ports. Might be more often in the Caribbean. * * * Put "Cruise Critic" in e-mail subject line: tomcarten@hotmail.com
cmason Posted May 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2004 never saw an anchor used on the Explorer Eastern Cruise. Even in Labadee, they tied up to moorings. Now, they do wench in the mooring lines, but I suspect that is not nearly as loud as several tons of chain dropping out of the ship. ...left until Navigator of the Seas 11/13/
Crafty Posted May 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Just where are the anchors located? tomc said he heard one being lowered. I booked the Princess Caribbean late, so did not have much choice where to take a room. We are sitting midship --so low--it looks like we could reach out our window and touch the water. Where oh where is this anchor??? (however, I think my 18 yo granddughter could sleep through anything)
serene56 Posted May 9, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2004 The anchors are located in the front of the ship on the Destiny and Fantasy class ships.
