South America Shore Excursions

We will be cruising on the Star from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso this January/February. Does anyone have suggestions on shore excursions not to be missed whether with Princess or some other company which can be recommended? I would really appreciate help in this daunting task.:confused:

Some of your ports my be different as our cruise last year was out of Rio, but here is the review I posted which mainly deals with the excursions we took. The Estancia outing in Montevideo was outstanding.

patrick watts tour in the falkland islands to volunteer point to see the king penguins. it was the best tour i have ever been on! its a long drive there and back, but so much fun in the 4x4 over the peat bogs. patrick gets all his friends to drive on cruise ship days and you go in a convoy.

In Punta Arenas I would see the Penguins in Ottway Bay.

People have arranged small group private tours for each port of call, and while many have been filled, I am sure that some are still available. As to the Falklands, use the link previously provided for the Patrick Watts tour. You book individually, and are put into groups. It is what most of us are doing there.
