JazzLizard Posted October 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2012 I switched to the Early Saver fare and BAM! I instantly saved $170! Amazing! BTW, is anyone familiar with U160 on the Fascination? When I switched today, the specialist that I was speaking with suggested that I moved to this room. I was staying directly across from it, but she said this room was starboard so it would have better views and a bigger window. It sounded like a winner to me! :D
cruzinlisa Posted October 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2012 How did you switch. I am thinking about doing it, but not sure exactly how to do so. Did you have the cancel and rebook or just call them?

It's on the port side (as are all even number cabins) not the starboard side. You can't ever tell what veiw you will have while in port because the ship may dock forward or backward, there could be other ships between you and the port and what ever view you have of distant islands while at sea on the way down will be on the opposite side of the ship on the way back........ You have passenger cabins above and below you so sound shouldn't be a problem. I don't think you will have a larger window.......and by directly opposite your original cabin do you mean you were originally in U161? because there are no cabins across the hall......... Event he main dining room (unless you get the mid ship dining room then you have to go forward and use those other elevators--- the ship had dead ends for the dining room because of the galley you have an ocean view cabin that sleeps 3 people
JazzLizard Posted October 27, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted October 27, 2012 I was in U161. The phrasing that she used was across. I honestly haven't looked at the deck plans because I made the call between appointments at work. The offer to move was an unexpected surprise. I found out about the price through a promotional email from the site that I booked through. I called and they moved me to the ES rate without a problem. Thanks for all of your advice! She said that it had a bigger window but I'm really good either way - I'm just excited to go! Plus, I am hoping that the fairy calls me and offers me a sweet deal on a balcony! MrFunInTheSun Posted October 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Heres a report from the Sensation.. same ship class. Few years old though. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=176454 OUR ROOM: Our room was an oceanview room, U160, on the UPPER DECK. Room seemed small at first, but got used to it quickly. Not bad for a ship room. Lots of storage space. Luggage fits right under the bed. Nice amenity basket was there (toothpaste, herbal essense shampoo, mouthwash, etc). It had 1 UPPER bed. The window was much larger than I thought it would be. Wife and child can easily sit on the window sill. Only thing dissappointing was the window was not that clean from the outside. Seemed streaks were there, that impared visibility a tad bit. Could not even tell there was smoking ever in this room, and I am sure there had been. There were 2 Bath robes and a very handy safebox that is locked and unlocked with your sail and sign card. Two plug outlets were there. One next to the bed, and one in the bathroom attached to the tube light. I didn't bring a surge plug outlet as some people recommended, and these two did fine for me to charge my batteries on the digital camera and video camera. The room seemed very cold always, and couldn't figure out how to turn down the AC until 3 days later. A little vent can be adjusted, but it could never be turned off. .
