What is NCL's plan for Jewel this week

QM2 is on her way back to England & doing 21 knots and EOS is doing only 16 knots to Bermuda ... ;)

Looks like Explorer of the Seas changed its mind. They seem like they are not going to Bermuda and instead, turning southbound somewhat to follow what the NCL Jewel is doing.

QM2 is on a northerly path on its way to Southampton...

We also know someone on Explorer. Her last communication noted a change in direction but still to Bermuda. I too am interested to read reviews. We have been in 24' swells back in 2005 on NCL Dawn. Wife and I had the entire MDR to ourselves. Add another 10'? That's pretty big waves!

We had 40 foot seas and 100 mph wind gusts on the Spirit. DH and I were the only diners in Cagney's and the only people in he casino. The tales from everyone on these ships should be interesting!

This is what the last map showed. Explorer seems to be turning on a southernly heading. Maybe they haven't told the passengers yet that they are not going to Bermuda....

We were on the Dawn two years ago to Bermuda, the year it was one hurricane after another, worried about one going and left couple hours early to out run another one.We had 30' seas and we thought the ship was handling it well,we had a aft cabin and enjoyed the view and never really noticed anyone haveing a hard time.30' seas on a ship of that size is not such a big deal.

Jewel,s ride looks pretty good.

We sailed Dawn into a storm this summer. The captain hugged the coast till Virginia the turn sharp right out to Bermuda keeping us in the sun whilst we could see the outer bands of the storm on the port side all day . We got in one day late. Left one day late.

A great job by Captain Bengtson and NCL thinks me and mine.

The Jewel is making good time, still pushing 24kts, just a little north of Cape Hatteras.

The Jewel ran the gauntlet south last night between the storm and the coast, and will make every port on time. Therefore, NCL doesn't need to make alternate plans.

Jewel seems to be off the map, can you tell I'm bored lol. Maybe she's helping the CG picking up survivors from the Bounty

Apparently the coastguards have picked up all but two of the crew from the lifeboats in the early hours of this morning. Looks like two are still missing as of now. They abandoned the Bounty about 90 miles South-West of Cape Hatteras

Just got word from our friend on Explorer. They have 25' swells. A window blew out in the buffet area, so no buffet today. They are on deck 9 and have some water in their stateroom.

Captain told them they are going to Bermuda. Will be interesting if they wake up in Nassau.

wow! Looks like their more leisurely pace and being further out was a bad choice. Hope all are ok!
