Hollywood Beach to Everglades?

We are staying a few days precruise in Hollywood Beach with a rental car. We would like to visit the Everglades. Where would be our best place to go from Hollywood where we could go on trails and maybe an airboat tour? Will we go on any toll roads to get there?

I recommend going to Everglades Holiday Park and my second recommendation is Sawgrass Recreation Park. There will be highway driving (I-95, I-595, and US-27) but no toll roads on either. Both parks are located just off of US-27. Check out both websites below for further info.

There may be some savings coupons on the websites. Also, keep an eye out for Groupon, Living Social, or Travelzoo local deals (Fort Lauderdale), as there are usually some very good deals offered, such as 2-4-1.
