JimAOk1945 Posted November 2, 2012 #26 Share Posted November 2, 2012 We sailed on the Ecstasy twice when Galveston was her home port. We enjoyed both cruises, but the second cruise which was last Summer was the best! We sailed in the gigantic Penthouse suite (also called the Owner's Suite). At 1,100 sq. ft. it was really hard to say goodbye when the cruise ended :( Glad you had such a fantastic cruise. We miss the Ecstasy!

Mrs.C05 Posted November 3, 2012 Author #29 Share Posted November 3, 2012 Thanks for the info! Wow, only $1.99/min? I was actually expecting it to be more then that. :o We really won't need to talk long just more for checking in so that should work out ok. Yep, I thought it'd be way more as well but thankfully not. It's the family calling you, shore to ship, that is expensive. Mrs.C05 Posted November 3, 2012 Author #30 Share Posted November 3, 2012 This ship also had a casino game you could play for $1/play to try and win different amounts of money stacks or iPads with money taped to them. It was always going with a crowd of people behind them. Can't remember what it was called but it was a lot like the stuffed animal machine you had to aim and grab. Only this 'vault' had a key that you had to get in just right. Pretty hard to do but one guy won $100, and someone won an iPad. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 My husband spent a good share of money on this game in September on the Destiny. We never did see anyone win anything, but every time we came around we heard someone had "just won". Fun game and very addicting!

You can find the owners manual that says how easy it is to fix the game. The game isn't about skill, sadly it's about the $$. The owner sets a minimum value that must be inserted into the machine (i.e. $1,500) before it will allow someone to win. In addition to that, the casino staff supposedly removes items at night to make it appear as though someone had won the night before. maighdeanmhara Posted November 3, 2012 #34 Share Posted November 3, 2012 Thanks for reviewing! DH & I are leaving our 12 month old for 10 days in December for our cruise (going down 2 days before, plus 1 day to drive back). We leave 5 days after he turns one and I am SO nervous! I'm also a stay at home mom and I miss him like crazy if he takes an extra long nap. Don't know how I'm going to do it! Thanks for the tip on calling from the cabin! dgballer39 Posted November 4, 2012 #37 Share Posted November 4, 2012 Thanks for the review. Will be sailing the Ecstasy in January and counting down the days. Any idea if the cappuccinos and espressos were still free in the MDR?
