Butler Question (probably strange!)

We just upgraded to an SC (2 bedroom family suite) and I was curious about the Butlers. Which are the best, do certain ones handle certain cabins...we leave Dec 9 On the Jewel so I was wondering the same ones would be on board as are now when we go.

It's really hard to know answers unless someone is on the ship right now and knows their butler's schedule. They would be different and as for which ones are the best...that is kind of like the food question. Some people love certain butlers and then you read a complaint about that butler for the same reason the other poster loved them!

Two weeks ago on the Jewel our butler said he had 10 suites. Our garden villa, 5 haven suites and 4 SC suites. He was always around when we needed something. Getting food never took more than 20-30 minutes.

Do you mind if I ask how you upgraded? Did you just watch prices drop and call up? what did you upgrade from?

 

We are considering upgrading from our aft ph (sf) to a 2 bed (sc)... and are just watching prices right now to see if it drops anymore... right now it's 200 more...

 

we too have been wondering about which butlers will be on the Jewel when we sail... we had "T" on our Jade Med a few years ago and loved him!

If it's the same Butler we had, who's name was apparently difficult for some folks to pronounce (Totoram Sookdeo), and who therefore went by the moniker "T" then you will be happy to know that he is presently on the Jewel. He was our Butler in the OS in February, and we absolutely loved him (although there are some who feel differently on these boards). He will be onboard until mid-February when he leaves for vacation. ;) We are very sad that he will not be onboard when we sail in March. :(

Hi! We had an aft mini-suite. We watched the prices. I had a certain $ amount I did not want to spend to upgrade and when my PCC saw it was at that mark AND that only 1 remained, she called and I grabbed it. She is awesome.

 

This is our first sailing with NCL and I am hoping for a great experience. We have been in suites on other lines but CC makes NCL sound like one of the best. Fingers crossed.

Mr. T Was our butler last January and we LOVED him. From the minute he greeted us in the VIP waiting room and escorted us to Cagney's until the last hug when we were leaving... I did hear some bad comments from one other person about him ... can't please them all... he treated us wonderfully... so much that I wrote a letter to NCL praising him.

That's him! We loved him! It was our first time in a suite, so we've got nothing to compare him to- but would be delighted to have him again. We worry that we didn't tip him enough last time--- being new to suites we had no clue-- and actually still aren't sure what is appropriate, but if we have him again we will give him a little extra just in case! Do you know if you can request him?

Glad to hear this. We will be in an SC 12/9 and I cannot wait! I have not been in yet but I know I won't want to ever go back to "just a balcony". Lol

Whoop Whoop Whoop!!!!! You are absolutely going to love that suite! I'll send another email and let him know you've changed suites. I still haven't heard from him (which is not unusual) so at least now I can advise him of the exact suite! :D

I just received a reply, and he advised that they are on rotations now, so he does not know if he will be covering your suite or not, but even if he is not, he will come and see you and say hello. He is very happy that you remember him fondly, and is looking forward to your arrival. I gave him your suite number, so he will know exactly where to find you! :D

Was on the STar, our butler was Clint. Not sure how many suites he had, but when we called for room service, he was there within 30 minutes.
