And in response to the poor service in the MDR...I also know that slow service' date=' forgotten drinks, mix-up in foods occur and can be an annoyance especially if wanting to eat in a hurry to get front row seats at the night's revue. And just like any restaurant diners should complain, first in a nice way to the wait staff and then in a nice way to the Maitre d even to the point of demanding to be moved (if in assigned seating) if the problems persist. Complaining about something after the fact doesn't help...being pro-active does. Just like if the food is cold or doesn't taste good to you...send it back and ask for something else...[i']don't just sit and complain[/i].

Exactley! I don't understand why some just take what they get, are unhappy about it and don't say a word...but then complain after the fact. How can a change be made if the powers that be are unaware of the situation? I see this happening a lot in land based restaurants too. People, it's not rude to voice a complaint. If your steak comes out well and you ordered medium rare, it's OK to send it back.

That being said, we didn't have any issues with late dining on the Dream. Our server was awesome, never had a glass go empty and one night when he saw us coming, he started pouring my glass of wine before we even got to the table. The food was as hot as could be expected and we never lacked for anything.

We were on the 10/13 cruise and had early 6pm dining but were always at teh doors by 5:50pm and saw the ATD lines and if not every night, then nearly every night, the lines were long and winding. Made for very congested walk ways! It was seriously a mob of people. I cant see us ever doing ATD if this is the formula they will continue to use for dining service:eek:

We had anytime dining on the Dream and only had to wait one night as we had gotten there around 7:45pm. The wait was only about 10-15 minutes so not too bad. It seemed the best time to go was around 6:30-6:45pm . The service wasn't bad but we have had better on other ships. The Dream wasn't our favorite ship but there were no problems or major issues that ruined the cruise or prevented us from having a good time. (well, except for hurricane Sandy. lol)

So we have left Nassau did a little shopping around port area didn't do much since we have been here like 10 times....I will say getting back to the Boat was Hell with 5 ships here Oasis/Majesty/Dream/Sky/Aida the lines to get pass security wrapped around and out the building I sense a theme for this lol the buffet line was same long they had one line closed because of issues with hot plates so it made things hectic for 4000 people trying to eat. Then went to Serenity after trying the slides the Twister was super fast and the Drainpipe was entertaining but Twister was 10X better going to take a quick nap will check in tonight before Dinner its Formal Night...

Good Morning From the Dream So last night was formal night and dinner was great I had spring roll for appetizer and two lobsters and my partner had stuffed mushrooms and lobster and prime rib the food was GREAT no wait because we moved from YTD to Late Seating but the YTD line was atrocious again poor people. Then we went to the Show "Get Ready" and lets say I was Ready to leave it was suppose to be a Motown themed show but to me the theme was corny and the singers where not very good the girl seemed like she was screaming the entire time after we hit the club and Casino and then called it a night.......right now i'm on my Balcony drinking coffee looking forward to a Day @ Sea.....will check in Later..

Just got in From Dinner and I must Say it was a MESS the Anytime Dinner Line wrapped around the Atrium took a hour so we changed to Table for Two for 815 tomorrow now for the ship I love it Carnival did a pretty good job with the layout its pretty much Conquest Class with a little changes her and there the Ocean Plaza is nice and also the Wrap Around Decks a Plus Waterworks was Awesome today wish they had the Bucket Splash but I will live also Casino Was packed tonight you would have thought they where giving away money took my 20.00 so I left  also I'm using the Internet Plan for 39.99 for Unlimited for the Week that's a Steel :D will update more tomorrow after Nassau SEE YOU THEN......

We just got off the Dream a couple of weeks ago and we had ATD. We eat very early, so we never had a problem of having to wait. We also liked a certain table and waitstaff and never had a problem getting that also.

But we did notice that prime dining times the line was very long for ATD, so I guess it's just a matter of what time you like to eat......

My husband's also disappointed the sushi bar is gone because that was one of his favorite things.

Also to the other Poster Eastern we are in Nassau today gotta go Ashore will talk to you guys later....

I look forward to hearing how well this does for you all week. Interested in knowing how long it will let you stay logged on at a time before it may try to kick you offline. We are sailing the middle of December and our son is currently deployed to Afghanistan. Unlimited for $39.99 for all week makes this Mama happy :). Knowing that I can be logged in on my computer while in my cabin without worrying about time limits makes me feel better about being able to have some communication with him that week.

It was logged in last night for over 4 hours while we went to dinner and show I came back and all my football highlights from Sat and Sunday where downloaded it was AWESOME

That is GREAT!!! We will have around a 3 hour window that we know he could possible be online. Worrying about not being able to communicate with our son has been the one thing that has had me worried about our cruise. Thank you for posting this, you have made my day!!!

I don't mind a little rocking and enjoy being rocked to sleep at night, but riding in the wake of Sandy was a bit more than I care for. lol That's part of cruising during hurricane season though. We still enjoyed the cruise.

Hey guys.....we have friends on your cruise.......they have cove balconies. The storm isn't bad enough to close those off are they?

How long has the storm gone on and how bad is it??

If I had to guess probably had to close them the waves are hitting the ship hard so I would guess they closed them

Oh my.......one of our friends doesn't "roll with the flow" too well, so he's probably getting some whine with his cheese about now........

Be safe.....thanks for the info!!!!

We sailed on Dream during Sandy. They didn't close off our Cove Balcony door until Friday, and Thursday evening it was very rough--they even had the barf bags out at the elevators, but we could still go out on our balcony. If you're just passing through a thunder storm, they probably won't close them. It's a big deal when they do, and it requires some manpower. They also move the furniture from the balconies into your room.

Thanks for the real time review. We are on the Dream in just over a week. How do you like the late dining? Are you able to get to the shows? We are currently wait listed for anytime, but I wonder if we should just take the late. Do you know if the aft pool is adults only? Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Your up early!! Your on vacation, you should be sleeping in! ;)

Well since you are up, have a quick question...did they move the sushi bar or did they take it out?

Have a great day!:D

3 couples from Florida on the Dream 1/12/13 All cove balconies

How are they? Normally we get balconies higher in the ship.

Going to the private steak house ,any info or advice.Do we need to tip extra?
