Coastal car rental

For our day in St. Maarten we rented a Jeep for $92 and drove to Marigot for breakfast and coffee at la Sucriere. We did some shopping at the open market there and then drove over to Orient beach for the rest of the day. It was so much fun having our own transportation. The island is easy to navigate with one main road circling the island and you are given a map and any directions you may need.

We agree, SXM is the best island to rent a car on on.

 

We've done it 3 times and would enjoy many more.

I agree! Coastal is great. I definately recommend the $5 GPS - makes the day so easy. Fort St. Louis, Marigot, Le Galion Beach, Maho - perfect day - all at your own pace!

can you rent when you arive in port with ease? We are considering renting a car but not sure yet. We leave for our trip in a few days.

If they have availability - you can rent right off the ship. I'd recommend reserving so you are not disappointed.

We made a reservation in advance and had no problems when we got there. They are right at the port near the taxis.

For anyone renting a jeep from coastal, did u find it to be in good condition? New or old? Top on or off? Thanks!

Not sure if it would be a good idea to rent a car on a day with 6 big ships in port. What do you think? Of course we would want to travel all around to see everything, but I heard traffic can be really bad in the afternoon. Maybe it would be best to just hire a taxi? We have 6 people in our group. Thanks
