POLL: What do you think an all-inclusive package will do to the atmosphere on board?

DW and I are indifferent to the drink package. No way we could drink $49 each daily for any type drinks. We have a couple of alcoholic drinks daily on a cruise, no cokes, so not a reason for us to buy.

 

If someone wants it and it helps keep my cost down, OK, don't think it will have an impact on our cruises.

Let's face it, people who are intent on getting sloppy, fall-down drunk will do it whether it was all-inclusive or not...no matter what cruiseline they chose. That being said, I think the idea of the all-inclusive will benefit far more cruisers than it will negatively impact fellow cruisers.

 

Like it or not, cruising often brings out over-the-top partying, however, for those of us who know our limits and respect those limits will find an all-inclusive a terrific way to save some money while aboard.

Well I'm not thinking that many "know their own limit" drinkers would buy it to save money on board, perhaps for the convenience of knowing what the bar bill is in the end.

 

From what I'm reading the drink package would be $49/person/day x days of your cruise and has to be purchased on day one or two. Drinks included are soda, spirits (i'm assuming house brands), wine & beer. IMO the most expensive thing out of the list that is included are spirits which are $7/. That would require the purchaser to order 7 drinks a day per person x # of days of the cruise. Considering that there are ports that a good portion of passengers will be off the ship for at least part of the day which would then equal more than 7 drinks per day to come out ahead. That is one heck of a pile of booze for the average drinker to put away per day.

something to think about. We're on the Sun for 10 days - would come out to $56.35/day = $563.50. Like to have a few glasses of wine at lunch & dinner, but would have to have at least 6/day. Not too hard to do with 2 at lunch, 3 at dinner, + a nightcap. Plus a few sodas & juices. Would be nice not to worry about the bar bill. Drink a few more on sea days, a few less on port days, probably just break even. Had the x1 package on Costa - beer, wine, soda, & water - saw some who took advantage but they probably would have anyway.

 

Anyone know if it includes martinis, champagne, poolside service, or casino service?

Didn't have any impact on the Sun cruise we just came off. There were not a lot of people that bought it, and those that did said they did it more for the peace of mind knowing what their alcohol bill would be from the start. I didn't see any stumbling drunks or rowdy behaviour. Spring break might be another animal, but there is always rowdy behavior and drunk students on those cruises regardless.

 

 

I agree......we just got off Sun & didn't see any drunk or rowdy behavior even in the sports bar during happy hour...HA HA

As I like the idea about not having to sign slips I have a problem where everyone in the cabin must buy one DW does not drink at all and would not buy one.
