sjegee1 Posted November 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2012 I was wondering which level of the Island Princess is the opening to get off the ship at each port? Thanks, Jeanette:)

bubba98 Posted November 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Just got off the Island on Monday and every Port except Grand Cayman we got off on Deck Five Plaza deck . In the Caymans it was a Tender and they used Deck four.
Loonbeam Posted November 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Usually deck 5 and I think 6 at times, depending on tides. We were told deck 7 could be used, there are gates in the railing, but this is not common. 4 for tenders.
Pam in CA Posted November 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2012 On my 17-day Island Princess cruise last month, ports where we docked disembarked on deck 5 off the Atrium. In tender ports, we disembarked/re-embarked on deck 4 midship, accessible from the mid-ship stairs.
Putterdude Posted November 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2012 As you move toward the equator the tide variances are much less than say in Alaska. On a Panama cruise you will use decks 4 and 5.
caribill Posted November 14, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2012 In some ports this summer, both decks 5 and 6 were used in the same port.
Infi Posted November 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2012 I agree with the other posters and have seen decks 4 (tenders), 5, and 6 used. Usually it will be deck 4 and 5 used at the same time. I've found the gangways on the Coral/Island are steeper than on the other Princess ships, and usually resemble a flight of stairs rather than a ramp.
