dogladyjw Posted May 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Is there anywhere that a semi-handicapped can see brwon bears? I am talking about someone who can't walk over 200 feet, but can get on to, off of, into and out of anything.
bearbait Posted May 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2005 That's the only place I know off that would be able to accomodate someone. Every bear tour that I know requires that you be able to hike a "distance" to get back to the bear viewing locations. But if you are in Anchorage check out the Anchorage Zoo, it is awesome.....:)
Budget Queen Posted May 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2005 The Animal Park outside of Girdwood may also be an option??? The Alaska zoo is actually very nice. :) But Denali Park is a good option, not the salmon diet bears, but with a good pair of binoculars a good chance at a bargain price. Great scenery and other wildlife too. Independent visitors, go with the Shuttle to at least Fish Creek.
