Radisson Inn at the Port vs. Hampton Inn

We just did the Hampton Inn fly snooze cruise package and it was excellent. I highly recommend it. They use Travelynx for their shuttle service to pick you up from the airport, then shuttle to port the day of the cruise, then pick up from port back to airport. Everything was on time and hassle free. Would definetely do the Hampton again.

Have not stayed at the Hampton, but have stayed at the Radisson at the Port 5 or 6 times now. This past May they started offering on-site parking for "non-hotel" guests so they have purchased about 18 very nice shuttles which makes transportation to the port easy as pie.

If you do stay at the Radisson be sure to ask for a "renovated room" as they are much nicer. They do NOT offer free breakfast, but there is a family restaurant next door (Zachary's) and a McDonald's across the street.

Hope this helps.....

Thanks. We have just booked Radisson at the Port. Are there any nice Seafood restaurants close by?

In walking distance there is Zachary's (family food also Greek offerings), an Italian, McDonalds and a sushi. If you have a car, there are the restaurants over by the port (Fishlips, etc.) Or you can drive about three miles to the first causeway, go about 1 mile and The Sunset is on the left. It is a locally owned restaurant with a GREAT view of the sunset (go figure!). There are also all the basic chain restaurants on the causeway.

Carol & I have also enjoyed The Flamingo which is the on-site restaurant. Some have commented that it is overpriced, but for the Baltimore area it is average.

since you are sailing on the Freedom of the Seas which leaves on Sunday I would suggest going over to Fishlips or Grills late in the afternoon so you will be there as the Saturday ships leave.

A lot of fun to watch them as they are sailing by.!!!!

Does anyone know how far Fish Lips is from Radisson at the Port? Thanks in advance.

Not far at all (maybe 1 to 1 1/2 miles), but you will need to take a taxi......roads are super busy and not made for walking anywhere.

Ask at the Radisson and see if their shuttles do any complimentary trips the evening before. Also there is a "pay what you want" cab company, but I cannot think of the name of it right now.....but anyone at the hotel could tell you.

Oh and I almost forget (in case you didn't know)......go ahead and book your shuttle time when you make your reservation, otherwise you might end up on a later shuttle. They do a very good job with the shuttles. The last time we stayed we had a 10:30 shuttle time, but because there were some people who were late getting out front at their assigned time, we were put on the 10:00 one. Worked out great for us!!!

Hope this helps......
