Birth certificate required?

We have a cruise booked and I know we need our Passport and driverse liscense but do we need to take our birth certificate too? I read dicument requirements but the way it is written it sounds like we need both. Am I reading this wrong?:confused:

If this is a closed loop cruise (beginning and ending in the same US port) and you are US citizens, the minimum requirement is a CERTIFIED birth certificate and (for those 16 and over) a government issued photo ID (drivers license). If you have passports, that's all you need. No need for additional photo ID with a passport.
