thescot123 Posted November 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Will be on a cruise which makes a stop in Belize on Dec 19th. What is the weather like in Dec, is this the rainy season etc? Also I usually go snorkeling and wonder if the water will be cold. If it is the rainy season then what is a good tour to take that can keep you dry. I was thinking of going shark/ray alley and then caye caulker but and wondering if the rain may affect this. Has anyone else been here in mid-dec. PSkinner Posted December 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2012 just returned from Mariner of the Seas Sunday. Water temps were cool at first but you would get used to it after a few minutes. Days temps were mid 80's. Only rain was in Roatan and then only for about 30 mins.

Budget Queen Posted December 16, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2012 It is cool. I am ALWAYS in a wet suit. Bring extra towels, since some boats are open and even colder. :)
Pssunshinegal Posted December 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2012 It is highly unlikely that you will ever need a wetsuit to snorkel in Belize, but the current water surface temperature today is 82 degrees. The air temperature is also 82 degrees today. Later this week, it is likely to go up to 84-86 degrees. If the water feels chilly, it is because the air temperature is higher by several degrees. Often in Belize the sea water temperature feels warmer than most swimming pools, 82 is really nice. Have a great trip. Hopefully you will get to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. Oops see that you have sailed, but let post to others looking for December - January sea temps. It is basically the same.
thescot123 Posted December 30, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted December 30, 2012 Got back from the cruise, last week, and had a wonderful time. The weather couldn't have been any better with blue sky and temps in the 80's. The water temp was perfect and didn't require a wetsuit. We did stop at Shark Ray Alley and had a wonderful time interacting with the 4 plus nurse sharks and stingrays. Was there on Dec 19th.
