funfamilyof6 Posted December 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Can people who have not rented a Cabana go to Nellie's beach also? The reason I ask is that we have already rented a Cabana and my mother in law has decided to come along with us on our cruise making us now 7. Will she still be able to come to the same beach with us? Since my youngest daughter won't be needing the special food area, I am also thinking of giving her my mother in law my daughter's bracelet. I just want to make sure that we can all still be at the same beach near each other. Also, how far is the regular buffet area from the special buffet area and are the both on Nellie's beach? Thank you.
flowers44 Posted December 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2012 How old is your youngest daughter. You might be able to get all 7 of you into the Cabana if she is real young. Nellie's Beach is an open beach area and anyone can get onto it. The cabanas are "Walled off" and you have to go through a gate to get to the cabanas. The enhanced buffet is a short walk from Nellie's Beach. I am not sure where the regular buffet is since we rented a cabana on Nellie's Beach and went to the buffet inside the Barefoot Beach area. Everything is within walking distance on the island. I would think it would be wise to give the bracelet to your mother-in-law, especially if your youngest daughter is a babe in arms. Don't think you would have trouble getting everyone into the cabana.

My youngest will be 10, so she isn't that young, but I certainly don't want to spend another $250 on a cabana rental when really only 2 people will be using it. Are the cabanas walled off where you need a bracelet to get to them...I thought they were on a public beach??
flowers44 Posted December 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2012 Yes, there is a wall around the cabanas on Nellie's Beach. Usually there is an attendant standing at the gate that lets you into the cabana area. There is no reason why someone could not wade into the water and enter your cabana from the water entrance since it is a public beach and anyone can swim there. I would check it out with your person you made the reservation for the cruise through and see if they will allow all 7 people in the cabana. Each person is given a wristband when you sign in and are escorted to your cabana.
cruisegirl1 Posted December 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2012 Yes – anyone can use Nellie’s beach and, of course, the ocean. There are attendants who will set up chairs anywhere. If you end up with a larger group than the cabana accommodates, you can set up the chairs on the side of the beach that is closest to your cabanas. Have fun M
patrick401ca Posted January 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Are there clam shells and umbrellas available on Nellie's beach?
flowers44 Posted January 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2013 There were clam shells there when we were there. You just have one of the Beach Attendants move them to where you want to be. They will set up the lounges for you at the same time. I don't think I saw any umbrellas. Someone did say on an earlier post that the clam shells become very hot inside since the breeze cannot pass through them. There are lots of shady spots on the Beach. You could skip the clam shell and just set up your beach day in the shade of one of the many trees.
ladywraith24 Posted September 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2016 Regarding 7 in a cabana, I had the same question and emaile rccl excursions and called and they said emphatically on 6 allowed, so we are not going to get one in the event the 7th, a child also is turned away. cb at sea Posted September 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 7, 2016 Yes...on Coco Cay, all beaches are open to everyone...unless the "improvements" are changing that! And if someone has rented a cabana, you can have guests...there just might not be enough "stuff" (towels, included food, floats, etc....) for everyone.
