JohninDC Posted December 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Hopefully Yogi or one of the other locals can give you some feedback on this motel. Have you compared this to the Comfort Suites Airport North or the hotels in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA? Those regualrly get positive feedback on these boards. Good luck! :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2012 You may have done this already but if not be sure to check out the sister site of Cruise Critic, http://www.traveladvisor.com to read reviews. Keith
miamiyogi Posted December 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2012 That hotel is actually in a suburb of Miami known as Hialeah. I would guess 98% of the population there is Hispanic. Most people speak Spanish as their primary language. Traffic is heavy here, and its very removed from the Port of Miami. Follow JID's advice and see if you can find something reasonable in the Airport/Blue Lagoon areas. I'm not a fan of the airport LaQuinta at all but I would pick that property over this one. Donna - dsw Posted December 10, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Thank you - - How about the Regency Downtown?
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I would take a look at the following hotels downtown. Hampton Inn Intercontinental Marriott Hyatt Marriott Marquis Holiday Inn Bayside I would recommend the Hampton Inn over the Hyatt Regency. miamiyogi Posted December 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2012 The Hyatt downtown is a nice property, it has kind of a dated feel but its clean. I also like its location, you can walk to everything and the hotel is connected to the free MetroMover via a covered walkway. The free Miami trolley also has a stop right in front of the hotel. If you rent a car watch out, downtown hotels charge $25-$35 per night for parking
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I always list the Hyatt on the list I provide. I would check out the entire list. The down side to the Hyatt is what miamiyogi said. It is dated as much as they've tried to upgrade it. Keith
