shaskelly Posted December 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Has anyone done NYE on Seadream? I'd love to hear your experiences and how the crew made it memorable...:) What about other holidays on board - Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc? Sailing 28 Dec 2013! JES4845 Posted December 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2012 We have been on SD for two Thanksgiving holidays in a row, same for at least two Fourth of July holidays. They have done them up nicely without over doing it for non-US passengers. We have seen them do several birthdays and anniversaries and those celebrating raved later about how well they were treated. We, too, are eager to learn more about New Year's Eve as we have that booked a year from now between Costa Rica and Panama. We will be transiting the Panama Canal on New Year's Day and spending NYE in Panama City. We have spoken to several who have been on board for Christmas and they were very laudatory about gifts, decorations, celebrating with staff who are away from home, etc.
Jim Avery Posted December 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2012 We have done Easter holiday/Spring Break and would not recommend it unless you love kids running wild. We boarded 2 days after Thanksgiving one trip and had one of the very best trips. Great passenger mix, great weather, and no kids.:D Have had one in our party have a birthday on board and the response from SeaDream was fabulous. Special mimentos, letter from the Captain, "balooning" the stateroom and even more attentive service from the crew. Do let them know if you have a special event while on board. They really make it special for you.
vandrefalk Posted December 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2012 We've done a Thanksgiving and our 25th anniversary on board -- and they DO make it special!! I've heard that NYE is St Barts is great fun -- not sure what it will be like in Panama City, but should be. Are you on I or II? whatnot Posted December 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2012 I've done two birthdays in the Caribbean and 4th of July in St Petersburg, Russia. Birthdays were great with the cake and all the balloons and stuff in the room. As well as having special friends to celebrate with and special attention from crew, etc (hard to get more than you normally get!). 4th of July was low key because we had many other nationalities on board. American burgers, hotdogs and fries were the lunch feature.
JES4845 Posted December 12, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2012 The Costa Rica/Panama trips are on SD1 as SD2 will be in Asia then. BTW anybody have an idea as to when the rest of the 2014 itineraries will be posted (beyond Spring 2014)?
shaskelly Posted December 12, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted December 12, 2012 Vandrefalk - I'll be in Asia on SD2 on NYE in 2013. In Phuket to be precise! Shaskelly:D
