6andy6 Posted December 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2012 The Dawn Princess was in Melbourne today and was scheduled to leave at 4pm...which it did. But looking out of my window for the last half hour I can see it sitting stationary in the bay. Wonder why? Maybe some obstruction I can't see ( sme trees block the view at the front of the ship) or an medical evacuation? It's sort of off Elwood/Brighton about 1 klm. Or..maybe a yacht race is blocking its path.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2012 You can follow her on http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ find the map for Victoria and zoom in on Melbourne. Its showing her at 0.3 knots, but there is a ship coming in. Perhaps theres only room for 1 at a time in the channel?
Fiery Posted December 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2012 Hi, You are / were correct. Shortly after departure the ship dropped anchor in Port Phillip Bay to tender a passenger to meet land based ambulance. No further details were given. Cheers.
