Froufie Posted January 25, 2013 Author #276 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Froufie: After reading your review it makes me want to get back on the Breeze again. I didn't think you were going to make it back up to the top of the of that volcano, but I didn't think I was getting back up the top either. We had way too much fun. Linda & Michael Hi guys - how are you doing? I didn't think I would make it either - but glad that I did! :) (needed to get to the winery of course - great motivation :D:D). I think we all had a blast!;)
FreezingInMichigan Posted January 27, 2013 #277 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Loved your review! :) We're heading to Barcelona for a cruise in April and we're trying to figure out how to handle our currency. We're thinking we'll take a small amount of Euros with us (enough to pay for our cab to the hotel, etc.) and then use an ATM in Barcelona. We're stuck trying to figure out whether it's better to pay for as much as possible with a credit card or if we should withdraw mostly cash with a debit card. Either option is free of international charges for us. Would you mind sharing how you decided to go plastic vs. paper? If you used a credit card, did you feel uncomfortable using it at any of the venues? Thanks much for any advice you can send our way, ~ Sheryl

I left with about 450 euros which I purchased here ....and came home with about 225 - however I did pay for my hotel with a credit card, my barcelona tour was prepaid thru viatour as were a couple of my other excursions. So I was able to figure out how much I had to bring for those excursions which were not prepaid and how much 'spending money' I would need in each port for purchases. I generally would not use my credit card in the ports unless I was making major purchase (e.g. the mallorcan pearl earrings for my daughter).... I did not want to relay on any banks or ATMS in foreign countries but that's just my preference. If you can figure out how much u may need for excursions (that are not prepaid) that might help? Good luck and have a FABULOUS cruise :D Edited January 28, 2013 by Froufie

alreadypacked Posted May 2, 2013 #280 Share Posted May 2, 2013 This time when Sasha asked if there was anything he could get me - I did think of something special that I really really wanted - so I batted my eyes at him and said I would so LOVE to have a Breeze Ship on a Stick - that would make me so happy (seeing that there were far and few being given out at trivia games :( )... At 4 pm we all went to Ocean Plaza to try our hand at some trivia games. Then it HAPPENED - I found my ‘extra special machine’ at the Casino. So as you have read I wasn’t having much luck with any of the machines I was playing, but at least I was playing with Carnival $$ so didn’t feel so bad ($500 OBC upon boarding). Anyways I tried a new machine today - the Space Invaders one with the cows in spaceships - and the cows were very good to me - giving me back $315 after a couple of spins! Time to celebrate - finding Sue at one of her machines with her super duper ‘drinks on us’ card - a Miami Vice appears for me! :D Tried to take some sunset pics outside this evening - but too many clouds so I gave up and went inside. I just love that machine!! :D "Planet Moolah" it's called! I've played it on the cruise, here in Florida, and Atlantic City--great machine! NCTribeFan Posted May 3, 2013 #282 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I'll be looking for it on Fantasy in a couple of hours. But the machines that I seem to do well on (which is rare) are never there when I board again. And I haven't had much luck on Fantasy anyway (except for coming in 2nd in my first-ever slot tournament). Last time, I was last in my round. On both legs of the B2B! Thanks takes some real luck, doesn't it? :(

useyourwords Posted May 5, 2015 #284 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Thanks for such a great review! I started reading a much earlier review of yours, but the pictures were all gone, so I moved up to this one. Those are some amazing pics you took! I have my second ever cruise booked for next September on the Vista and I'm so excited that I'm reading all kinds of reviews. LOL! Do you think the cove balconies are better than the normal balconies? Victoria
teacher34 Posted June 8, 2020 #285 Share Posted June 8, 2020 Hi, Froufie thank you so much for this review ! I am going back through old reviews to keep me encouraged while we are locked in due to the corona virus. Have you done any recent cruises or reviews ? I enjoyed reading yours and would like to read more.
Froufie Posted June 17, 2020 Author #286 Share Posted June 17, 2020 Wow - can't believe this review has been 'resurrected' LOL - such great memories (and I notice the pix are now back but with those banners everywhere!). I don't have any recent reviews - just some old ones hanging around (which can be found in the links in my signature). Glad you enjoyed it and hope we can start cruising again soon (as I write this I was supposed to be on a FABULOUS 16 day transatlantic on the Legend from NYC to Dover - alas it did not happen - heartbroken of course - but it's for the best!).
teacher34 Posted June 21, 2020 #287 Share Posted June 21, 2020 We were also booked on that Legend cruise !! I was so excited about it and so disappointed when it was cancelled. I had been planning for it for a year ! I was also booked on the Mardi Gras ‘s first cruise and then b2b on her TA crossing. Both of those were cancelled , too. It is frustrating ! pcrum Posted June 21, 2020 #288 Share Posted June 21, 2020 I love this review! We did our first TA in April, 2019 and now we only want to sail TAs. My husband loves all of the sea days! I loved your photos of Barcelona!! Brought back so many memories!! Sorry your TA on Legend was cancelled. We are booked on a TA in April, 2021 on the NCL Epic from San Juan to Barcelona. I'm not entirely optimistic that cruises will be back on by then. I wish you would write more reviews...you have a great writing style and lots of knowledge to share. Thanks again for a wonderful review!!

leen50 Posted June 21, 2020 #291 Share Posted June 21, 2020 Hello, nice seeing a name I recognize. We were on the Horizon TA-Barcelona to NYC & came over on the NCL Star from Miami 3 days prior. I had Tea with Y'all several times. My DH helped Sue Greenberg with Friday nt. services. Also we went on a pre-cruise tour with Sue G. & Louise H. Last April we sailed Vision of the Seas, Galveston to Barcelona=17 days. Ship couldn't compare to Horizon. Like everyone else...waiting to sail again! -arleen
