T-N-C Posted December 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2012 I am tring to find a good place to eat for a large group in Galveston. Any suggestions? Wanting something different that we can't get at home.
Stevesan Posted December 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2012 Galveston equals seafood. Fisherman's Wharf would be a good choice. Convenient, too. Located next to and the Strand near the cruise terminal. http://www.galveston.com/fishermanswharf/ http://www.galveston.com/fishermanswharf/map/

lgbteacher Posted December 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2012 I suggest Guido's or Casey's. Same resturaunt Guido's is the fancy side and Casey's is the casual side. Food is cooked in the same kitchen. We loved it and it is a local. It is on the seawall.
Galveston Cruiser Posted December 26, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2012 It's Gaido's at 39th & Seawall.

Food is cooked in the same kitchen. We loved it and it is a local. It is on the seawall. They are owned by the same family, however, they do not use the same kitchen. You cannot get the same food at Casey's that you get at Gaido's. Gaido's is definitely my favorite in Galveston and I love their shrimp bisque. But, there menus are different and you definitely can't get the shrimp bisque at Casey's. I had heard that too at one time, but talked to the manager and he said no...that they have two separate kitchens. We've been eating at Gaido's (and sometimes Casey's) for about 35 years! Casey's also used to be open for breakfast back in the day, but no more. Galveston Cruiser Posted January 1, 2013 #12 Share Posted January 1, 2013 Actually, there are three kitchens: Casey's, Gaido's and the Pelican Club (private), all with different menus.
Letmelivehereplease Posted January 2, 2013 #13 Share Posted January 2, 2013 If you want great food that locals eat, it's Shrimp n Stuff on Avenue O. It's a hole in the wall, but FANTASTIC!! http://www.shrimpnstuff.com/

Rare gotta cruise again Posted January 3, 2013 #17 Share Posted January 3, 2013 I too enjoy eating at Salt Grass however, it is a chain that you can find in many locations. You may want to consider some of the local restaurants previously mentioned instead. We are heading to Galveston from central Texas tomorrow for a 1/5 cruise on Crown Princess and look forward to fresh seafood! (But we haven't yet decided where we'll eat either :p )
