Does anyone know the earliest time you can drop off your luggage with the porters in Galveston. I have an early flight arrival and town car service that will put me in Galveston about 8:30am or so. We are wanting to drop the luggage at the terminal and either have the town car (hopefully) or walk to the Tremont Hotel for breakfast and then head back to the terminal around 10 or 10:30am. If we have to we can take the luggage I suppose but would rather not.

Just in case anyone else wants to know, I contacted the Port of Galveston's assistant port director. He quickly returned my email and told me that porters would be avaliable to take luggage as early as 8:30am. I was very suprised as how quickly he returned my email on a Sunday no less. It goes to show that some people are customer service orientated still.

Wow

Fantastic

Enjoy your trip.

When you walk to Tremont

You will be in old town

Be sure to visit La Kings Confections

for fun or for ice cream, coffees, candies,

Chocolates, taffy, nuts etc . A neat place.

It is in same block 24th as Tremont

But on Strand between ship and Tremont.

Strand is street of different shops.

What time do the shops in the area usually open? I would be nice to browse and may be pick up some things to kill time.

By the time to finish breakfast

Some should begin to open.

Depending on when you want to be on ship

You would have plenty of time to

Stroll the Strand!

10:00 at latest

As example

Women's clothing shops :

Tina's

Footsie's

Front parlor
