Can I walk from port to Downtown?

Wondering if it's too far to walk from the ship to downtown Cozumel shopping district? Or, should I just take a taxi, but if I take a taxi there, how do I get a taxi back?

Not sure of the shopping district you refer to, but taxis' are EVERYWHERE, usually lined up 10 deep. Shopping of some sort is pretty much constant as soon as you step off the ship.

Yes you can walk it, we did . But its about 4 miles to " downtown " from where Carnival and Royal dock. If you decide on the taxi option there are lots of them downtown and at the pier.

Depends on the dock. We've seen peope walking from the second dock farther away from town and that is quite a walk. I would suggest a taxi. It's a long way and it's usually an hot, long walk.

We walked down from where Carnival docks. It is a long way and there is not much to see. We took a taxi back. The fares are very affordable and you gain more time to shop.

It will depend on the dock; Puerto Maya is quite a distance and would be a tough walk imo. Punta Langosta is right down town, you walk out the port and you are in the main shopping district. I thought Carnival always used Puerto Maya but we are on the Legend in a couple weeks and I see it is docking at Punta Longasta; it may have something to do with the number of ships in port that day.

We docked in Punta Langosta when we sailed on Carnival. Easy walk to shopping-- we even walked back to the ship from Margaritaville.
