Bigtex1622 Posted December 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2012 I was told they do a lot of smoking Bar-B Que, on sea days on the Magic. They make sliders, hot dogs, and such using a grill. I hear the smoke goes up to the balconies above. what side of the ship does this happen on? Port= Left side, Starboard = Right side.

It's on the side of the ship with the Odd numbered cabins, the grill is in the middle of deck 5 so any rooms directly above or past that area will probably be subject to smoke. bbohbbneedacruise Posted December 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2012 Starboard between mid and aft elevators. https://www.goccl.com/irman/bookccl/the_fleet/interactive_map/magic/interactivemap.html But also be aware that on port side same location area is the outdoor smoking area for cigarettes and cigars at the Red Frog Pub. Bigtex1622 Posted December 29, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted December 29, 2012 Thank you all, we are in GS 7321 which is between mid and forward elevators. So we should be smoke free, well except for the ciggie smoke around, that I can live with.
Eng23 Posted December 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2012 I'd rather smell the smoke from BBQing/cooking over cigarette smoke any day.
Bigtex1622 Posted December 30, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted December 30, 2012 I'd rather smell the smoke from BBQing/cooking over cigarette smoke any day. I guess to each is own, I would rather smell the smoke of a ciggie or even cigar. Than the greasy, burning meat smell. ( not that the meat is burning, just the leftovers clinging to the grill ) But this is getting off topic, and do not want to debate the merits of smoking. I do not smoke, but do not care if others do. Thanks CC experts again, For the info on my problem. This board is a wealth of information.

Missileer Posted January 1, 2013 #11 Share Posted January 1, 2013 We were on the Magic two months ago and had a starboard side balcony. The BBQ is on the starboard side lanai and we had no problem with smoke. The ship is sailing at 20 knots and I think it just all dissipated. OBTW the sliders and tacos they made were excellent!! Enjoy
