Meet and Mingle with no sea days

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on Adventure on Jan 27. It's the itinerary with a LOT of ports of call, and only 1 sea day...at the end. Normally, the meet and mingle party is on the first sea day. Since that's at the end of the cruise, that obviously would not work. So, I just checked the "confirmed meet and mingle" party list. Ours isn't until the 30th, at 4:45pm. That is a port day, and we don't leave until 5pm. So, how many will find it convenient to attend this function so late in the cruise at that hour of the day? Has anyone else done this itinerary, and did anyone show up for the m&m?

If the ship leaves at 5:00, all aboard will be at 4:30. Those who want to be there will be able to make it there.

We have done it and, yes, people did show up at the M&M. We had an informal get-together at sail-away, scheduled and publicized thru the board for the specific sailing. We all wore beads or something similar and met in a specific place at sail-away (the helipad if I remember correctly). That way we got to know each other at the beginning of the cruise. At that point the M&M became only a formality.

The Adventurer is doing the same basic itinerary that we did earlier in December (it's almost the New Year......just a few hours) on the Brilliance of the Seas.

We did a B2B2B. The first week, because CC and Royal Caribbean acknowledge that the M&M must be held within the first 72 hours of sailing, will be held while the ship is in port, just about to sail.

Week 1 had us leaving San Juan on a Saturday, and the M&M on a Monday, just before leaving port. A disaster!

Week 2 had us leaving San Juan on a Saturday, but Sunday was a day at sea, just the opposite of week 1, and we had about 40 people show up on a sea day for M&M.

Week 3, not enough people signed up to even have an M&M.
