Sargent_Schultz Posted April 20, 2013 Author #751 Share Posted April 20, 2013 First of all your review is outstanding. Thank you so much. DH and I are going to Cozumel and I wanted to know if the beach at chankanaab is something that we would like. DH is a lot older than me and likes to lay out on the beach, while I like to get in the water. I actually want to try snorkeling and would like to know if this is a good place for it. Thank you...BTW I'm addicted to your reviews.:D Thank you and you're welcome. I think Chankanaab would be a good choice. There is even more to do there than I showed. It is a state park so is clean and safe; a possible downside is there is the admission charge. I've never seen people get crazy there like they might at some of the beach clubs and the snorkeling will be much better. If you have never tried snorkeling, I would sign up at one of the snorkel rental places for their free (I'm sure tips accepted) snorkel tours. angeleyez915 Posted May 10, 2013 #757 Share Posted May 10, 2013 You're welcome and thank you! Enjoy! Thank you. Sorry - I don't do bingo, but they certainly have it. It is a revenue generator for the cruise lines. Oh - last time i did play i would say punch cards. I played on the Ecstasy ... someone in the session in was at won 1000.00 on the punch cards
PomSaysOm Posted May 10, 2013 #758 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Some lockers were available. I think the price was an obscene $10. They were $10, but when you returned the key they gave you six back. Weren't very big lockers though. I had a huge beach bag that barely fit, even without much in the bag.
toliver922 Posted May 12, 2013 #759 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Can you give us some advice on the best deck for balcony view (not aft), so that there is not too much noise but views aren't blocked by lifeboats, etc.?

I don't think lifeboats are really an issue on Conquest class ships. As for avoiding noise just look at what is above or below you and avoid public areas. Also avoid the launderettes. kimberleyb1961 Posted May 12, 2013 #762 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Mahogany Beach, from the end of the pier is where you want to start snorkeling, End of the pier, This side is for swimming, Sarge, does this mean there are steps into the water? Not a ladder, but actual steps? I could actually swim in the water?

blaidd ddrwg Posted June 9, 2013 #766 Share Posted June 9, 2013 It WAS! :D Not technically in New Orleans but in Kenner near the airport. Harbor Seafood and Oyster Bar 3203 Williams Boulevard Kenner, LA 70065 Great value and food and popular. Next door is Fisherman's Cove where you can purchase fresh seafood to take back home. We're nearby, so my MIL and I go there for lunch on a regular basis. She swears by their turtle soup, too!

Maybe next time I'll try. Love it at Galatoire's and Commander's but should be a better value at Harbor.

My son with autism won't have anything to eat for lunch - yikes!! Try Fish n' Chips for fries but get there when they are open. Should be able to get them in the MDR on sea days lunch and also at dinner. Or talk with the Food Mgr and ask what could be done.
