Hello,

 

I've searched everywhere & have emailed Jamaica for a day to find out about how much a taxi fare would be from the ocho rios port to this resort. I'm thinking for a taxi for 4 people it would be cheaper than the $15 pp in transportation they provide & I can leave right away to the resort & return when I want instead of being on their time frame.

 

any thoughts?

Sue....go on the tripadvisor forum for ocho rios and ask on there. I'm sure some local person will provide you with the info you need.

Thanks I will try that. Jamaica for the day said $10 pp each way for a taxi.... They of course encouraged us to use their shuttle... $15 pp for a 12 min ride? That seems crazy high... I will post back what I find out!

Can one just show up at Jewel resort and pay for a day pass or do u have to go thru Jamaica for the day?

The resort offers day passes...and it's more expensive than booking through Jamaica for a day.... I was surprised...

Taxi is about $15 to $20 as well... I'm thinking of booking through Jamaica for the day for that as well.
