We were looking at staying at the Hampton InnTampa/Airport Westshore for our cruise on the Dawn in JAn 2014 and was wondering if this was the one you stayed at and if so how was it and do they have a shuttle to the port? Thanks for the great review.

Yes it is. It's an older Hampton but recently remodeled. Standard Hampton breakfast. Nice rooms but a little small. Still good nights sleep before the trip. They do have a shuttle but we checked in late (we drove in 9 hours away) so we were on the list for the second shuttle. Because we like to get on the ship early and start enjoying we grabbed a cab.

Thanks. Just booked with them thru Expedia for the day before and return day of the cruise. Seems as if they have shuttles to take you to restaurants and mall nearby as well. How early can you arrive at the ship for NCL?

I think you can get to the pier at 11am or 12am? I believe it says on your cruise documents what time it opens. Every cruise we've been on we get there as soon as we can and have always gotten on the ship very early. You can eat lunch, jump in the pool and tour the ship as soon as you board!
