I am taking the wife and daugher along with daughter friend on Carnival Pride to tha Bahamas in June.... Do most people book the off-shore excursions through the cruise line???? I know the girls want to go to Atlantis. I wouldn't mind but doubt I would do any of the water slides.

You don't have to go through the cruiseline....most don't! But, research is needed on your part! Check out the prices of the water park at Atlantis and it's sister property, Comfort Inn/suites.....the price directly thru the hotels might be cheaper.

Unless you have all day there, it's not worth the price for just a couple hours. You can go to Atlantis and use the public areas inside (restaurants, shops, casino) without paying anything, if you just want to see the place.

If you book a room at the Comfort Inn you get free admission to Atlantis. It's about the same price to book a room as it is for 2 admissions to Atlantis(depending on when you go). It is located literally right across the street from Atlantis, so all you have to do is check in and they will give everyone in your party a wrist band to use to get into Atlantis. And then you even have a place to change or take a shower before heading back to the ship if you desire!

How do you find out about the rooms at Comfort Inn. Do you just go check-in for the day then check back out? How do you know if they have any reservations left? We will only be in Nassau for a couple of hours and want to make the most of Atlantis Aquaventure but to not want to pay $600 to do it. I hear renting a room at Comfort Inn is the best way to go, but just not sure on what to do. Thanks for any help!! Cruising to the Bahamas 1/12/14.
