Is Grandeur really the stinker of the seas?

We have sailed on Grandeur 3 times out of Baltimore in 2006, 2009 and 2013. We have never experienced the sewer smell. We were in cabins on Deck 7 Forward and Deck 8 Aft.

the smell is generally experienced by mid-ship cabins. The closer to the centrum, the worse the problem. We had it in a deck 3 outside cabin that was right by the centrum elevator.

Just got off the Grandeur today I never noticed any smells my cabin was on deck 3 forward port side. Was up and down the halls many times on deck 3 and didn't notice any sewer smells and didn't hear any complaints about smells from any one.

I tried my best to narrow down the areas where the smells could be detected.

Just off her today and never smelled anything in or around our Deck 8 cabin (8565) all week, but traveled down to deck 4 port side just forward of the Centrum and smelled it there. That area is like old faithful when it comes to sewer odor.

 

Never smelled it anywhere else we were the entire week we were on board. Also didn't see or experience any plumbing gremlins this sailing.

Interesting...we were all over the ship. Our cabin was 8th deck and I had friends on deck 2 and 3. No smells when we were around there.
