Luggage at Port Canaveral

Hey Everyone -

 

A question about luggage check in at Port Canaveral. We are sailing on the Fantasy on Feb 2. We will be arriving for 12:30 boarding via private transfer (Happy Limo) from MCO.

 

I am curious about luggage handling. When the Van drops us off, our checked baggage will have the Disney Luggage Tags on that they sent us in the mail. Will DCL porters take the luggage bags from where we are dropped off, or will we need to "lug" out luggage around until check-in/boarding the same way that's done in airports? If so are there baggage carts around?

 

We'll have two small kids with us, and are considering duffle bags, but maybe roller-boards would be more appropriate.

Yes, when you get out of the car, the DCL porters (well, they're not DCL, but they will be accepting DCL bags) will take your bags and you won't see them again until they arrive at your room.

 

Anything important/valuable you should keep with you in your carryon bags, but the big bags will be handled by the porters/houskeeping staff onboard.

You limo will know where to drop you off. There will be porters to take any bags that have the DCL luggage tags (that you received in the mail). You will not see these bags until they appear outside your state room later. Make sure that no important documents are in these bags. It is suggested that you bring a day bag as a carry on to put any extra things you might need.
