Just as a side note, I ended up booking 7 day on the Epic Nov 16th....it ended up costing us a total of $449pp for a balcony cabin and we both get the drink cards :D

You'll LOVE the Epic - and not just because they have the largest casino at sea!!

Are you familiar with Slot Play Coupons ? I'm not a slot player, but usually buy these to use in Video Poker.

Never have rec'd a casino offer, just gamble a little every night, but on our last cruise they had some people who were bragging about their comp'd rooms and how much money they were spending and their line of credit. They were not very nice to anyone who was working in the casino, just wanted it to be known that they were VIP's. I was not impressed and I could have done without them when I was in the casino. I can't imagine how the employees felt about them.

You didn't spend enough last cruise :D

errr... "donate" I like to call it!

With Carnival it definitely seems based on a percentage of your losses - at least in my experience. With most land based casinos it's how much action you show them (how much you put at risk). I've had a few Carnival cruises (too few) where I took home 5 figure sums - only to get little/no cash on my next trip. You see, I want to eat my cake and have it too! ;)

I finally got my offer in the mail yesterday...$300 casino cash.....no thanks, I'll pass.....

I was on the Pride premier cruise w you last year. I know you cruise more than I do. Can't believe you aren't offered more. On my last 4-5 cruises I hit around 20,000 points each cruise. And I know there were many above that. But I don't understand how people that gamble less are getting free suites and our offers are less each time. Mine went from free suite to $1500 to $1250 to $900. I just don't get it.

Going to AC. Won enough Sun to pay for my next cruise :)

Maybe that's it. I hit two jackpots last cruise. Maybe they should give me a free suite so i come back and give them their money back.

If you hit a (BIG) jackpot in Vegas, they'll put you up in a very nice room. On Carnival, they somehow think you're "lucky" and don't roll out the red carpet next time.

This just frustrates me to no end! To me, spending a couple of thousand in the casino is a ton of money (this is what we usually spend) and all I qualify for is a $25 comp. Just doesn't seem worth it since the slots are so tight and the card table odds are lower then they used to be 5 years ago (3 card poker, specifically).

Grrrrr. You all must spend 10s of thousands in the casino to get those comps and offers!!

I prefer not to, but have had a few trips where I went beyond my intended max loss.

Of late, I have been more focused on a reasonable daily loss which helps to assure that I don't make them VERY happy that I sailed with them. Granted, the floor and pit people are happy to make everyone winners (winners tend to tip better as well)- it's the people up the ladder that want to see an eventual return on their "investment". Carnival need not worry though, as their investment is typically not very substantial.

I booked with a casino junket operator for our Oasis cruise and managed to get an Owner's Suite for roughly the cost of a balcony - which means over 5 grand off! All that they ask in return is that I play for about 3 hours/day at my average bet. Since Royal and Celebrity are "related" I'll be picking up cage cash on the Oasis stemming from my play on the Constellation and Reflection last month. It's not a lot ($450), but seeing that those were free cruises and I did not hemorrhage cash (broke even on one - though they report I won 3 grand!), I am very pleased!

Thats what we try to do too set a daily loss limit and if we hit it we call it a day.I remember my first trip to vegas I brought 5k to play and lost it all at a craps table an hour after I arrived. I was so mad(and broke) lol

I did something similar on my 2nd trip to Las Vegas many years ago. Have since learned to at least try to set a daily loss limit; makes for a much more enjoyable trip.

Yes, we always get the slot play coupons when going on NCL...wish Carnival had them. I also like that you can book any cruise (not just the "premier") and receive drink cards for everyone in the cabin on NCL

$1,000 and a free balcony. Very nice for only having one sailing with them. I'm guessing that your play on that cruise was either in the (multiple) hundreds per hand at a minimum, you lost a five digit sum, or they're trying to cultivate new talent! :D

Special boarding is basically the same as "priority boarding" - meaning that you'll be among the first groups cleared to board the ship. If you're at the port early enough you'll get on before a majority of the people there. Arriving at the port around 11 should do the trick.

Edit: Yes, you'll need to make sure to call the number on the card and reference the offer number so that they can get you in their system correctly.

Good Luck!

Tom

Yes you are right on the money about that. It was our first cruise so my boyfriend got a little too excited at the casino. Nice to know we at least get some of the money spent back =) And do you know if the special boarding is suppose to be listed on our boarding passes?

Your boarding pass should say "VIP" or something like that. You'll go in the same line as platinum/diamond & suite guests

Thank you for the heads up. Our boarding passes didn't have VIP or anything like that written on them so I gave carnival a call. When I called the number listed on the flyer they said the casino was suppose to send us a welcome packet with all the information in the next few weeks or so. Has anyone else experienced this, or did the guy I spoke with misinform me?

Yes, the welcome pkg usually comes a couple weeks before your cruise. It details the special events that will be going on.....

Has anyone one received the new "premier" offers that were mailed out on the 9th? Michael said I'd be getting the offers but we are just traveling home from a cruise so haven't seen our mail yet.

I talked to a friend who works with the Player's Club. Next round of Premier offers will go out soon and can be booked in March. Our offers, while less than last year, will be the same as the recent mailing.

So in addition to the ones that were mailed out last month they're mailing out more in March? Or are you talking about the ones that were already mailed out in January?

New ones. I know at least 1 is for August and 1 is for September.

We were checking VIFP offers and saw the new casino offers you were referring to. I tried calling Carnival to inquire about ships and sail dates but she told me the information wouldn't be available until March 11. Just checked again and the casino offer is no longer listed on our account. Guess we'll just have to wait till next week to see.

Thanks for the date. I've been checking every day. A casino friend tipped us off to cruises we may be interested in and our cash back. I want to jump on this one as soon as it comes out.

Does anyone know what the actual % off is for the discounts? I know there are 3 categories ....PC1,2 or 3. And can the offer be used on suites? Last time upgrade fairy bumped us up from a balcony and I'm hooked.

Every offer I have ever had said "up to 25% off" I guess it depends on which sailing and how full the ship is when you book

I'm not sure if this is the same offer since the discount code is PTC and PTF but it looks like 35%.... http://www.carnival.com/legal/specials-terms-conditions.aspx
