The Christmas decorations....looked real nice during the cruise. I took shots of the various shops all around the shopping area on board...it was during our sea day so we had nothing planned except dinner and the show that night. sonicbuffalo Posted January 14, 2013 Author #40 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Magen's Bay from up on the mountain.... We got there very early in the morning and there weren't a lot of people around. We watched the birds feeding on the fish by dive bombing them. The water was chilly at first, it took some getting used to.
sonicbuffalo Posted January 14, 2013 Author #41 Share Posted January 14, 2013 If you look to the side of the bay, you will see a white house of pretty good size. Our tour guide said President Bill Clinton stayed there during one of his trips. I told you the water was chilly at first.... sonicbuffalo Posted January 14, 2013 Author #43 Share Posted January 14, 2013 If you look real close you will see a series of poles going up the mountain. That's the tramway to Paradise Point where they mix some of the best Bushwackers on the island. We don't drink but they've been highly recommended by others who have had them. along the port of St. Thomas.... The Blue Sapphire ring I bought Ginny for Christmas.....she loves it! The store where we bought it....tell Jose Chris sent ya....he's got some great deals.
sonicbuffalo Posted January 14, 2013 Author #44 Share Posted January 14, 2013 we had time to kill while they sized the ring...so off we went for more shopping and to eat.... Ginny living it up....and shopping it up... There has always been road construction going on both times we've been to St. Thomas. Always right in front of the port. It was starting to rain so I had to put my camera away....and then the excitement began. I'll tell you about it in a minute.

sonicbuffalo Posted January 14, 2013 Author #48 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Some very colorful Caribbean sundresses... OK...after it started to rain, we decided it might be a real brief downpour and we ran to try and get on the ship. As we were running over and got into line, we saw a lot of commotion going on over the side of the pier. From what we saw, a woman had fallen off the pier in between the pier and the ship into the deep water of the port. Security had to respond so they shut down the gangway in a driving tropical rain while they fished the woman out of the water. They used rope ladders, and it took a lot of officers to get the woman up and into a wheelchair. We looked at her as she passed by on her way to the ship being wheeled by security. She appeared to have some scrapes on her hands and arms. We learned later that she had broken an arm. We finally were let back on the ship, and they handed out towels to everyone who had been waiting outside in the rain. We were all drenched. Sorry I couldn't take pictures but it was just too wet. That's the Liberty docked behind us. I'll tell you what happened with her later. We were watching Liberty leaving the port, when she was totally away from the port and backing out, she suddenly started coming back to the pier. We had to leave to go to dinner, but later our friends below us told us that they had to unload a passenger and put them on an ambulance. It was strange that this happened right as they were leaving. Our cabin was 8470...great view and no noise other than the wake due to the fact that we always bungee our doors open at night so we can hear the ocean. You'll love this ship!
