sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #52 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Later that night....my wife took this picture of the Breeze passing the Liberty. It's a dark one folks, but we saw a lot of ships at night and loved watching them go by. Ginny and her towel rabbit Antigua tomorrow....12-12-12 pulling into Antigua We had a Catamaran and Snorkel excursion planned for today. It was an early excursion. I think it was scheduled for about 8 am. Every excursion we had was an early one. I liked that since it left time to browse through the shops. sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #53 Share Posted January 15, 2013 The commercial port in Antigua... If you look at the gangway, there is a safety net below the gangway. The woman that fell in St. Thomas was no where near the gangway. She was about 20 yards from it. The net wouldn't have done her any good. Our tour organizer....that was us! Purplehaze21 Posted January 15, 2013 #54 Share Posted January 15, 2013 All the pictures went "POOF" except the last set :( Loving what I am seeing so far tho. Makes me ready to go sailing now!! :D
sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #55 Share Posted January 15, 2013 The Caribbean Steel bands that are now missing from all the Carnival ships. We want them back for sail away! We started out by sitting on the netting on the front of the Catamaran. We found after a quick stop that it wasn't that comfortable so we went inside the rest of the trip. One of the mansions we sailed by on the way to our first snorkeling spot. The water appeared very calm so far. A younger couple that was sitting up near us on the netting...they seemed to enjoy it out there... Now that's a real mansion....one of the guides said it was a $6 million house. sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #56 Share Posted January 15, 2013 One of the famed Sandals resorts The yellow cats were from the company that we used to snorkel. We didn't know from reading Ports of Call boards if there would be any other Catamaran or snorkeling tours so we booked ahead of time through Carnival. I would say we got our money's worth. It didn't cost all that much for both of us. The bar inside the Catamaran...and the have bathrooms too....are you impressed yet? The lady that was persistent at the beach and hawked us into buying a few t-shirts....I had to take her picture....
sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #57 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Our Cat while we were at the beach. The snorkeling wasn't so good. The water was very rough and we were very much further out. The reef wasn't impressive here, and neither were the fish. We got tired of having waves smack us in the face, and drinking sea water so we were ready for the beach. That same lady I took a picture of charged us around $5 for a chair and then she wanted to try and take up all our time trying to sell us shirts and jewelry. She was really a pest....but a nice one. Our captain on the Cat.... I believe he was going over a safety briefing.... A gal from the Seabourne Quest, which you will see a picture of when we got back to the pier. It costs a lot of moola to cruise on that ship....I looked it up and it ranged from $3800 to over $15,000. They were not snobs at all, and were very pleasant to talk to. sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #58 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Nice long line waiting to get back on board. We went back and got something to eat and then went back off ship. Where our Cats were docked...this is where we got on board. Might as well give Carnival some free publicity for their new ship.... Notice Ginny wearing her 12-12-12 Misfits shirt. We went shopping right around town. If we go back to Antigua, Ginny wants to tour the island.
sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #59 Share Posted January 15, 2013 A little more free advertisement for Diamonds International.... I guess this is how this woman earns her money....but we didn't give her any.. A freak show....for another dollar...but I don't carry cash...(well not much) A good look at where we were docked... sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #60 Share Posted January 15, 2013 A look back into town....we didn't want to go too far off the beaten path Next stop Tortolla, and MORE snorkeling....not a Catamaran this time My private yacht was following us... It's December and we had a few tropical rain showers...loved the rainbows.
sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #61 Share Posted January 15, 2013 One of the mates on our snorkeling tour...we absolutely loved this tour. The reefs were great, the fish colorful, and the water very smooth once we got to our spot. We had a great time around the caves. The water was very rough getting to our spot...we were getting concerned after yesterday's rough water. Not to worry, once we got there, it was great! sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #62 Share Posted January 15, 2013 A true sailor girl I was getting drenched....we sat too far back...and that hampered my picture taking on the trip to our snorkeling spot but I got these shots anyways....and Ginny took my mug. lol One of the caves we swam around and snorkeled near...you had to be careful not to scrape yourself on the coral here as it rose up near the top of the water. sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #63 Share Posted January 15, 2013 There were a lot of caves around here....I didn't go inside any as the coral was just too shallow and I didn't want to break any of it off or cut myself on it. At the beach we stopped at on the way back....you can see the yellow vested snorkelers in the water here. I just went swimming here, as I couldn't picture the coral being any better than where we had just left. This was just a brief stop.

sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #65 Share Posted January 15, 2013 The Breeze and our cabin....look up on deck 8 and we're the 2nd cabin from the left. Again, we went back to the ship to eat and shower before going out into town for a brief shopping excursion on our own. This was looking out of our balcony. sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #73 Share Posted January 15, 2013 For the benefit of those who haven't seen my previous review of this trip, the Atlantis hotel section on the far right has a suite that connects the two parts. It was stated by our tour guide the last time we visited Nassau that Michael Jackson paid $25,000 for one night in that suite. They call it the Michael Jackson Suite. Monarch of The Seas We didn't have anything planned other than to go to the straw market and Junkaroo Beach since we had never been there. It was good exercise too. Loved the colorful pocketbook. Very tropical.
sonicbuffalo Posted January 15, 2013 Author #74 Share Posted January 15, 2013 passing a couple that were coming back from Junkaroo Beach... This place was packed....when we got back to the ship, we could hear them hollering all the way across the channel. walking towards Junkaroo Beach... The world famous Junkaroo Beach
