DEET in January?

Is it necessary to bring DEET (or any other bug spray) when going through the canal in January or February?

Going through the Canal any time of year - no bug spray necessary. If you're going off on tour into the jungle good idea to take some along in case you need it, but you probably won't. The Canal channel is far from shore, and particularly in January and February when you have the winds from the north blowing . . . no problem. Enjoy! Regards, Richard
