Only if elephants are in the bowling alley.... seriously, these ships are well-constructed and well-insulated. It's very likely you'll feel as if you're cruising without neighbors above, below or next to you. Unless they smoke - but that's another string.... But noise - I think that issue is exaggerated.

We were on the Golden in a cabin on the Aloha Deck a year ago last December. Noise from the deck above was not a problem. I was upset one night as there was some noise, my DW pointed out it was the hangers in the closet.

 

Have a great time, the Golden is wonderful.
