Celebrity Infinity - Oct 24 2013 - T/A Harwich to Miami - Pied Piper sailing

May I ask who you are using for the transport to Harwich? I am gathering information! Thanks. Michael

Yes of course. Harwich Taxi. I'd asked the folks at The Pier for recommendations, and this was one of the ones they sent (and I also read their name somewhere on CC as well). They were very responsive to my emails. It's expensive, obviously, but they will pick us up at Heathrow and take us to Harwich. And it saves us schlepping our stuff into London to take the train (and having to change trains at Manningtree as well, where I've read there are no lifts and you have to carry all your bags up and down stairs) to get to Harwich. If we were already in London that would be one thing, but we won't be...

NEW FOLKS DROUGHT

I guess we are having a drought of new folks signing up for this cruise after an initial spurt of interest. I guess it is that Ground Hog's fault for getting the end of winter so wrong, some one should retire it

Hey Peter, how was your trip to Paris?

Thank you for asking, Alas, not a success. It was glacially cold and damp and all the Parisians were complaining about the non-arrival of spring. The Paul took a tumble on the sidewalk, no damage done, but very shaken up. The French were incredible helping to pick him up and then dust him off. Finally we were invited to a restaurant in St Cloud by my cousin, here we both got food poisining !!! We are still in recovery from that.

Having said that Paris was Paris, the lovely Marais, great sidewalk cafe ambiance and apart from the St Cloud experience, great cuisine.

Despite everything, we managed to enjoy the trip

Yikes -- I hope Paul is okay and you both recover soon from the food poisoning. That's too far to go for bad food!

Happy to hear you still made the best of it. Paris is, after all, Paris. :)

C'est dommage! So sorry your Parisian holiday was not stellar! I hope you both recuperate quickly.......and welcome back! Maybe now we'll get some activity on this board!

Thanx all for the good wishes.

The little green men armed with razor blades are still slashing at the insides of my stomach !!!!! but slowly recovering

I think that we need to have the April/May eastbound T/As to sail then we wil pick up activity here

Ah, just what we were so excited getting ready for last year at this time. It was our first TA -- eastbound on the Eclipse. We loved the ship, and we always love days at sea, but the constant loss of an hour a day got tiring. Eileen said she'd never do an eastbound TA again, and so here we are -- ready to head west! :)

Peter: I hope you feel better soon!

Tom and I spoke about that yesterday! I'm sure the time will pass quickly. Looks like we are going to abandon our plans to spend the night in Harwich. We will be taking "The Peter Express" bus on the 24th. Michael

Bravo about the Bus !!!! I hope from the Thistle Marble Arch, then we can make offering and say prayers for a great crossing at the Shrine of Our Blessed Lady of Free Flowing Alcohol the night before !!! I plan on bringing a thermos flask for the Bus and filling it with coffee from the Hotel in room cofee machine before we leave the hotel. So mch more sensible to be in London than out in the wilds of Harwich, where the wind blows horizontally in from Siberia !!!! Having spent time there many years ago, am relieved that our visit there will be kept to a matter of hours !!!

Opened Fire Island beach place last weekend, really Glacial.....dont talk to me about Global Warming !!! The damage from Hurricane Sandy has been devastating, we are OK, but the folks with pools in Ocean Front Homes have had a very modern renovation and now actually have pools in their front living rooms.....so totally chic !!!!

Hugz to all

Hello everybody. I apologize for being absent from this discussion. I'm afraid that I may have to cancel this cruise and I didn't want to get my hopes up by posting to the board. Now, I think that I might get good Karma and won't have to cancel if I write more here!

I just returned from 15 night San Diego to Hawaii cruise. 5 nights at sea, 5 days in the Islands and 5 more days at sea returning to San Diego. Perfect mix of sea days and port days! It was a fun cruise and there was a good group of Pied Pipers to enjoy it with (there were 30 Pied Piper guys).

I hope that you are all doing well and Peter is recovering.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I will join you on the Infinity in October. I should know for sure in the next couple of weeks.

I hope that you are okay, and that whatever is going on is resolved, and you can join us on the crossing.

I booked today. Have been with Pied Piper a half dozen times or so--looking forward to it, but...this is the first time I've sailed solo. So hoping for the friendliest of groups!

Welcome to the group. Seems to be a friendly bunch. Quite a few solo's in the group, including me.

Also quite a few posts from us on the other Thread for the cruise under the Celebrity Roll Calls. Seems

Welcome! Everyone seems really friendly so far! I am Michael. My partner, Tom, and I are from RI. Are you going over a bit ahead of time.....or directly to the cruise?

Michael and Tom

With the recent passing of progressive legislation in R.I., do we hear Wedding Bells in the future ? and will this be your Honeymoon trip ????

First Welcome to our Group.

Second, we seem to have an exceptionally nice group forming up and I believe that we now have the critical numbers to be escorted by Bruce from PP......
