If you're sailing out of or into Galveston within the next couple of weeks, be aware that they have a major Mardi Gras celebration going on.

 

Google to check for street closings for parades, etc. It can be fun, but it can snarl traffic.

Galveston Mardi Gras begins today. It attracts 300,00 visitors.

Take theotherchad's advise and plan accordingly.

We are cruising next Sunday 2/10, will fly into Houston Satuday AM, will be in Galveston early afternoon. Will we have a hard time getting to our hotel its Country Inn and Suites? Once we're there we plan on walking to the Pleasure Pier for dinner and just hanging out. What should we expect? And thanks in advance for the help!!
