indycrew Posted February 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2013 We will arrive at FLL at noon on Friday for a Sat. departure out of Miami...(Reflection). Does Miami port have drop off locations for major rental car companies? Is this more trouble than it is worth? Thanks in advance for your help!:)

Does Miami port have drop off locations for major rental car companies? Is this more trouble than it is worth? Thanks in advance for your help!:) There are several rental companies with downtown locations (Hertz, Thrifty/Dollar, I think). Others are located at Miami airport. However all have shuttles, the airport is about 15 minutes from the Port of Miami. We have used a Miami Alamo location on Collins (I think around 42nd street) and they also have a shuttle. There is a lot of prior discussion on this subject if you use the Search feature.
indycrew Posted February 4, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks cbMcruiser...I tried to search, but wasn't sure what to request. Put in rental car and got "nuttin'" Maybe just a transfer to our hotel would be fine:)
JohninDC Posted February 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2013 What hotel are you staying at? Both Hertz and Avis have downtown Miami locations very close to POM. If you are staying in South Beach there are many car rental locations scattered around. Try a google maps search near your hotel address to see which car rental agencies are close -- drop your bags and part of your group at the hotel and then return the car so that you can avoid the $25-30+/day parking fee common in Miami and Miami Beach.
