lola4795 Posted February 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2013 We leave on March 3 for our 1st Carnival cruise. I just got a call from a Carnival rep wanting to "go over the details" of our cruise. She asked if I had a couple of minutes. I happened to be in the middle of something, so asked her to call back. What is this call about? Does Carnival usually make pre-cruise phone calls like this?
wrigley80 Posted February 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2013 If you are a first time cruiser and if you booked directly through Carnival then it is normal.

Yes, this is our first Carnival cruise and we booked directly thru the Carnival website. What questions will they ask? Is this an appropriate time to ask about deals on upgrades? JohninDC Posted February 12, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Or offer you an upgraded room for a price! Do your homework on the web site so that you know if they are offering you a good deal.
Oma24boys Posted February 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Have you completed your online check-in? They may want to make sure you it is complete and all names are correct as names must match your travel documents. :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Starlight Durban Cruising Posted February 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2013 Some of us keep the Carnival telephone number as a SAVED number in our phones - so we know that it is definitely Carnival Miami phoning. What with so many con artists phoning people randomly nowadays I never give out anything confidential like bank account details, etc. unless I PHONED THAT PARTY. An alternative is you could ask the person what their extension is and then phone back on Carnival Miami telephone number (YOU find that number on the internet yourself) and ask for transfer to that extension. Rather safe than sorry!!!
lola4795 Posted February 13, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted February 13, 2013 You were all correct. She was mostly trying to sell transfer services and insurance. She also made note that our son's bday was close to our sailing date. She wanted to make sure that he was recognized for that. She was not hard sell about anything. It was a nice conversation.
