Mississippian Posted February 15, 2013 #51 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Say for 24 or 48 hours? Maybe a round of antibiotics for everyone and have a doctor keep a watch on them till they are sure they aren't carrying anything that has yet to surface. thoughts? I say take them to the Birmingham Zoo so everyone can get a good look at them. (Does Birmingham have have a zoo? Or just the world's most expensive sewer system?) dwjoe Posted February 15, 2013 #52 Share Posted February 15, 2013 No need for quarantine... there was no infectious disease outbreak
glrounds Posted February 15, 2013 #53 Share Posted February 15, 2013 It might not be a bad idea to quarantine them and study them as the MOST SANE people in the world.
kruzns4me Posted February 15, 2013 #54 Share Posted February 15, 2013 I certainly don't think getting on a bus or other means of travel is the right thing - I think they all should of ben escorted to a hotel - given time to shower and get a good nights sleep and then the next day given travel liberties. Pushka Posted February 15, 2013 #55 Share Posted February 15, 2013 What antibiotics would you give them? Each illness requires a different type.
jpmaximus Posted February 15, 2013 #56 Share Posted February 15, 2013 No offense but this post is absurd! After all these people went through its not like they were exposed to the Ubola virus or something like that!

makiramarlena Posted February 15, 2013 #58 Share Posted February 15, 2013 What for? Maybe I'm not following the story closely enough but I've seen no indication anywhere that they have any infectious diseases.

CENTEX CRUISER Posted February 15, 2013 #61 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Amen.. Of all the ridiculous posts at the moment I think this has to be the best!! I think Carnival has taken enough crap over the last few days, can you imagine if they tried to quarantine everyone!

Maybe a round of antibiotics for everyone and have a doctor keep a watch on them till they are sure they aren't carrying anything that has yet to surface. thoughts? I have a thought- it is seriously ridiculous and irresponsible to force antibiotics on people who aren't sick. People have been in a lot worse situations for a lot longer (um can you maybe imagine vets returning from overseas) and we haven't friggin' quarantined them. 2TNCruisers Posted February 15, 2013 #63 Share Posted February 15, 2013 These folks have been through enough already, leave them alone. I'm sure they'll all be very aware of how they feel and seek medical help should a problem arise, same as any of us just coming back from a trip to another country/region. I wouldn't want to take antibiotics for something I "might" have been exposed to unless they could show me I was truly at risk. Way too many people are becoming resistant to antibiotics because they taken them so frequently.
Alegeeter Posted February 15, 2013 #64 Share Posted February 15, 2013 You do not give antibiotics to healthy people as a "just in case." That's how antibiotic resistance to infections arise, causing an even bigger problem than a small outbreak if one were to occur. And besides, if you listened to Dr. Gupta's CNN report it is highly unlikely that there would be any break out. Everything else you hear is a rumor resulting from hysteria.
